Why muddle the waters at launch? Seems like it was intentional. They did not disambiguate things well on stage. The pro is a real game changer and they aren't even showing it at the presser.
I am truly interested in the pro myself.
It's a shame that they are insisting on a tard version of this tablet.
Why not just make a Budget and a Pro version, both running proper windows?
The way it is now, I'm only interested in the pro - but it'll probably be way too expensive.
no, i just think your logic is illogical.Wait you really think the pro is going to be 100 dollars more than the RT. No way in hell they said it during the conference.
RT is equivalent to android tablets - 500 - 700
Pro is equivalent to ultrabook pricing 1k- 1.5k
Windows RT has all the capabilities of the iPad, plus more UI stuff like side-by-side apps, plus full-blown Office on it.
And that's the "tard" version?
See, here's the thing... your bitching about them misleading you, but your bitching is lasting longer than how long you were mislead...
Sorta stupid no?
The Pro version will sell far less than the RT model. At half the price and a locked down system that can maintain performance, it'll be the real iPad competitor and "post-pc" device. No legacy troubles such as malware and third party bloatware can affect the RT version. It's a shame that they are insisting on a tard version of this tablet.

Will I be able to use Creative Suite on it? Just gimme ma photoshops.
I feel ya' man, that's really what I'm waiting for tablets to be able to do![]()
Let me get this straight... This will be the tablet with laptop functionality that I always wanted?
I'm not mislead. Others in here are. I'm bitching about misinformation in this thread.
ultra books are $700 and this comes out in januaryNo it wont. They already said ultrabook pricing. You are confusing the devices. The pro will be 1k at least.
Thats an image not rendered text. Troll harder.

The only thing other people are doing is changing storage size not ICs. No touch input, no x86 support. Those are big things.
1080p on a 10" is shitty? What?
Yes, and only for _________.*
*Pricing available in the near future.
Let's say she's mostly pregnant.
Don't get completely worked up, but all signs are point nicely on the Pro for this. Waiting on price, battery, and a couple of other details.

Still asking. Where are the individuals who said they'd eat their crap and youtube if this event bombed?
Thank you Einstein, I know all of this. My point is that none of the other manufacturer's seem to have gotten the industrial design right with the Android tablets and that has absolutely nothing to do with the OS it's running.
This actually looks cool and functional and seems to have fairly good build (from what we know of it so far). The only thing that looks like it might be comparable for my purposes is the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 in the Android ecosystem.
I love Android, but Google really has let its tablet side of things fester far too long, and it's going to come around and bite them in the ass.
oh for sure.If the pro is 600 dollars. I'll buy 2 and give one away. No way in hell.
Pro looks awesome I just don't see that. They would have said it today. That would have been a real game changer.

The most I would pay for the Pro version is about $600-$700 out the door!

Oh yeah! I forgot about those guys.Still asking. Where are the individuals who said they'd eat their crap and youtube if this event bombed?
Oh shit, what? LOLLove the Gary Whitta quotes in the OP. :lol

Definitely. I'm just saying corporate is the minority in terms of volume compared to the consumer world.Sure, the bloggers and the Starbuck "post-pc" crowd will buy the RT, but corporate world is going to go for the Pro version once they figure out you can put all their custom corporate software on it.

And that's the "tard" version?
it's not some arbitrary decision. Windows RT = ARM. It physically cannot support running the same set of applications.
link? lowest i saw is $700Ultrabooks go as low as around $600 checking on your Amazon.com site so I can't see the Pro costing up to as much as $1500, not a chance.
Well worth it too!Have fun waiting.
Don't see it below $700 and probably closer to $800, but saw a post mentioning an attendee saying the cover and digital ink stylus comes included? If so, it could be $800 out the door with accessories. That's pretty good to me.
delicious meltdowns in progress on macrumors
So people really think the pro is going to be 600 dollars. That confounds me.
