I'll probably get one purely for the bigger screen but really not a fan of the design, it does look a lot cheaper, reminds of those budget portable DVD players you find in supermarkets, I guess they had to bring the cost down.
I've actually grown to like the design of the regular 3DS, it has a unique conceptual look and feel I like.

I gotta admit that's kind of annoying that they're assuming the only people who will buy it are people who are upgrading from a DSi or 3DS. I only have a DS Lite, I'm assuming that power adapter won't work for the 3DS XL?
EDIT: or is it possible they actually stopped the stupidity with proprietary power connectors and went MicroUSB?

My 1990's era PC gaming eyes can handle it. We rocked 320x240 on a 15inch monitor in those days. Good times.

I'd really like to upgrade from my current regular 3DS to the 3DS XL next month - but Nintendo makes it so hard for me to pull the trigger...
In the past, I always sold my old used handhelds as soon as a new revision or successor was annonced. I usually ended up with a nice amount of money, especially for Nintendo handhelds.
Unfortunately, I was stupid enough to buy some 3DS games from the eShop. Now I can't sell my old 3DS until I get the XL as well! Otherwise I can't transfer my account from one unit to the other. And by the time the 3DS XL is actually released, the used value for my old 3DS will be significantly lower.
Right now, this looks like a dealbreaker to me.

I'm probably going to wait until I can get a used one in mint condition. I've been burned out on the 3DS far too much already, and I'm not happy about giving Nintendo more of my money for one, especially when they're too cheap to even provide a fucking power adaptor.
Yes I believe they announced the power adapter will be available separately, or if you have an old DSi, DSi XL or 3DS adapter it will work I think.

I bought a 2nd one for my 3DS for about £7 from Play.com. Official Nintendo too. It's actually for DSi but it works perfectly..

This is also a huge issue for me. I have some Virtual Console games, as well as all the Ambassador games.
I'd sell my 3DS immediately if it weren't for that.

As I mentioned elsewhere, I find it amusing that the logo in the fake looks more or less exactly the same as the real 3DS XL logo.
I wonder if it'll come with the big stylus like in the DSi XL. That was an awesome stylus. Considering they were considering taking away the A/C adapter of all things, my guess is no.
