Kaiba activates a spell card. Monster Reborn! This allows him to take a monster out of his graveyard and put it in play. Even a monster as powerful as the Blue Eyes White Dragon!

I think that's still suppose to be his palm facing us.

And his hand isn't a nub in the 4th panel, the back of his hand is just blocking his fingers as they get a card out of the graveyard. Still, sloppy animation, but good enough for a kid's show I guess.

And it will probably look a bit better in motion. Those Naruto pictures are a prime example. Complete disasters in screenshots, but it gives amazing fights.
