I hate how MLP some how has primary claim to the sucrose, candy-land aesthetic. That existed long before fucking My Little Pony came along.

It's subtle and the different take makes it look gorgeous for me. That's why I consider this the best Meet video so far.

Also: the accent, the lines ("Well the difference being one is a job, the other's a mental sickness."), the delivery and the animation, which is truly stellar. Every single Meet the is really well animated (some great acting in the Scout video, for instance), but the animation of Meet the Sniper really killed me.

I really wouldn't get too worried about the depth of the TF2 "lore".

Given how little TF2 actually needs any lore, what it has is surprisingly in-depth and remarkably consistent.

I know its not a fair comparison because the videos are like three minutes long, but the small details in the character animation are amazing. Are you talking about Pyro or Sniper? In both case: holy shit at that. The guy is seriously brilliant.

Exactly. I don't know about better, but they're certainly on par with most movie studios works. And I don't think the comparison is that unfair: these people are all great at characterisation and, as you said, getting the subtle changes and movements that will make everything feel so alive. They may work for Valve or Pixar or Blur, but above all, they're just super badass at what they do.
