Does anyone happen to know the name of the children's book series that featured a freckled young girl who was all monochrome except for her socks (?). It isn't Angelica Anaconda or Emily Strange. It was always in those Scholastic book fairs in the 90s.

Horrible explanation, I know. The best example I can think of is between the first and second Matrix movie, how Tank and Dozer died and then in Matrix Reloaded they apparently have a sister that was never mentioned and her husband got her dead brothers' job. How convenient!

This would work yeah. Thank you. But what i was trying to do is make entering such a date impossible in the first place.

Hmm, is the blurring similar to when you have looked at a bright light ? I think it's something called an ocular migrane, which isnt a big deal http://www.allaboutvision.com/conditions/ocular-migraine.htm
However I would visit the doctor just incase.
 
Is there an easy way for me to log my internet usage for a month?

I am thinking of changing my ISP but have no idea if I can get away with a cheaper, capped monthly usage limit, you see.

There is probably better tools but I use Networx to keep track of my bandwidth. All it would need is some way to throttle just in case Steam decides to update 40 games at the end of month.

I lost the cable that travels from my sub to my PC. It's got 3 ports at each end and I can't for the life of me find one that's got 3...what's the cable called? Am I a fool? Yes.

Would someone kindly remind me of the name of the freeware pc program that alters one's monitor brightness to be more appropriate to the time of day, to reduce eye strain etc.

There was quite a big thread about this some while back and I used it for quite awhile until I had a pc spring clean and now that I am using a different monitor I could really use it again.

Yeah, seems like it's Scintillating scotoma. Looked up a few sources and ticks all the boxes. Even tried a way to pre-emptively avoid one today and it worked.
 
What does it mean when someone posts a thread with G,A,F? in the title?
 
Anybody know how long the pilot episode of the Sopranos is? I just started watching the show again for the first time in years, but we assumed it would be one hour long. Thing is, we were kind of intoxicated when we started it, and it just ended, and it felt like a two hour ordeal. I'm heading to bed now, but we're both curious as to how much time we spent watching episode one. I tried searching IMBD and google and whatnot, but I couldn't find an approximate time.

Also, it took a good deal of effort to stop after the pilot and just head to bed at 1 a.m. on a friday night. It's going to be a lot of fun watching this again. G'night, GAF.

According to HBO GO the run time is 60 minutes.

Funny thing though, I remember watching the pilot years ago, falling asleep and waking up and feeling like it had been much, much longer than 60 minutes.

Why the hell has my laptop suddenly decidded to play sound through my speakers even when my earphones are plugged in? I checked the playback devices and it only shows my speakers, but when I disable them I end up with no sound at all.
 
what is stage.neogaf.com? I still have a habit of searching for threads via Google due to absence of search for so long, and so many threads seem to come up on that version of the site. They never load properly for me either on Chrome, which is weird. At any rate, it's gotten me back to using GAF's search more often, but I don't remember ever running into the site back when we didn't have search.
 
Once my laptop battery hits 72% charge when plugged in it stops recharging, and then says it's at 100%. Unplugging my computer shows in actuality the thing's at 72%. Up until this week it's always gone to 100% full charge. My laptop's about 2 years old, and I'm running Windows 7. Is this just a sign of slowly dying battery or is it something OS related? I've tried 2 separate chargers so I know it's not that.
 
Wedding gift to my friends was $250.

Was I a cheap-o or was that good enough? I had a blast at the wedding (was a Groomsman) so I later felt bad.lol.

There was at least one thread asking the same thing but I don't think a proper answer was given. However, if you remove the stage part of the url, it'll work like a charm again.

how can i show large pics smaller and clickable (so that they expand) in a thread or make them into a galery which is clickable. i see this at the gaming screenshot thread but have no clue how to do this. The FAQ didn't help. Thanks

I recently started playing guitar, i saw some threads and ended using the justinguitar page

So as my first song to learn i chosed Wonderwall by Oasis

The question is: Why is so quoted or even hated?

I have seen some quotes "never bring a guitar to a party" or "The first song you should learn is wonderwall LOL"

I mean, i chosed it because i liked it, but i dont get the party stuff people cites
 
Often times, in movies with bow and arrow combat, you often see people break off the shaft after a hit. Is there a purpose to this beyond the inconvenience of having a long stick of wood sticking out of your body? :)
