I know Dwarf Fortress is complex, but you don't really appreciate quite how complex until you see someone trying to explain it to someone else.
I feel like drew would enjoy that. Just cruising the wiki on a laptop and finding crazy shit and bringing it up. Or tabbing what Dave is doing and reading more about it.A lot of the complexity is thankfully not necessary for survival. By the end they're pretty close to the point of self sufficiency from eating cooked chicken eggs and brewing wine from plump helmets. Ultimately the biggest flaw of their setup right now is that they haven't appointed somebody to looking stuff up on the DF wiki, which is an insanely crucial source of information for how or why you'd do something in the game.
Man, MORE characters in that pixel art? I was still trying to figure out who the guy on the pink big wheel was...

Re: the hole. Dave knows about it. Vinny pointed it out to him. Hopefully he fixes it.
Also I'm still not sold on making his area there out of clay lol.

Since it's EVO WEEKEND coming up, I'd like to see TNT bring back some Scrub League shenanigans this Thursday, even if it's a more ramshackle variation on the MK9 big budget extravagreenscreenanza.
Could have Top 8 single eliminations for, I dunno, UMvC3, MK9 and VF5 in studio with willing GB and Gamespot staff, plus maybe even interlude the studio stuff with an SF4:AE player lobby in Tournament mode, with eight GB fans competing and the GB staff commentating/mocking.
Would be fun!
Plus, y'know, EVO!
So what's the later game like? After you get your fortress on its feet is it a matter of maintaining/defending/growing it or are there more elements that come into play?
From the huge world map I kind of assume that you'd want to expand to multiple fortresses eventually, but at the same time that sounds like it would get too complex with all the systems going on.
Oh, the two people I didn't recognize were the comic vine people...

I hope I live long enough to see it open up to the world and finally get to know what its really like there.
Its got to happen eventually right? Maybe not in a year or two but maybe a few decades down the road.
Those sprites would be amazing in a 16 bit platformer or a smash bros type game.
The GiantBomb game is inevitable. I cant believe a community-created one doesnt exist yet. Im sure the guys wouldn't mind lending a little bit of time to do SOME kind of work for it.
I think we all want to visit Big Jeffrey's now.Holy fucking shit this rollercoaster QL is the funniest thing I've seen in a while
Spelunky I think.
Oh yeah. That game looks neat. Although PSO2 sounds like a way better TNT.
Nah, PSO2 will just be someone playing an MMO in japanese. Spelunky makes for way better drama with it's roguelike nature.
Plus Spelunky is local co-op only. And insanely hard. Perfect recipe.
They need to invite Will Smith then. A spiritual successor to the Lantern Run.
Just tried Spelunky local co-op with @VinnyCaravella. "Tried." "Co-op."
