He says it in chapter 88. It's not really 'funny', it was just 'cause Sinbad had been reaffirmed to be a badass throughout the series so the introduction to a supposed level cap was just like "go figure"

Ah yeah, I remember that part, thanks. Can't make Sinbad more broken than he already is, eh.

Assassination Classroom

That was actually rather disappointing. Not sure where it can go from here. but i don't think I'm going to keep reading it.

Assassination Classroom

Awesome stuff. Really looking forward to seeing where this goes. Sure it's not as rough, sadistic or creepy as Neuro but it definitely looks to be good on its own merits. Art has improved quite a lot, not really sure how I feel about that honestly, though there's still some oddness about some faces and arms it's definitely a lot cleaner than Neuro looked.

Magi 110

This is about to get so good.

edit: Press conference for the JoJo exhibit celebrating 25 years of JoJo will be streamed live via youtube.

Assassination Classroom:

Ehhh, not sure what I think of it. I enjoyed this chapter, but I have no idea how this is going to work as a weekly thing. Seems like something that could get old fast or have zero focus.

I'm sticking with it, but I still am unsure about the whole thing.

Kuroko's Basket vol.3
The match was quite epic, great to see the veterans shining. Can't wait for the finals against Shutoku.

Magi 110

The big deal is probably that Aladdin's special, what with Ugo and all, but it could be possible that he's just there to replace Judal who's using the black rukh now.. very unlikely though.

I'm so hyped to see that traveling dude who's making dungeons appear. What the hell? He has to know all sorts of stuff.

Does Soul Eater get better at some point ? I read the first three volumes but didn't find it really exciting.

When it gets past the first major arc it gets quite good because it focused on the best character, and they get tons of screentime, then another arc is quite deep and hilarious.

I would check out the anime though, it really makes up to chp 30 or so good.

Magi - Volume 11+ (ch99-110)

This is a full volume filled with pure shounen action. Most of it was pretty good too, especially the post-dungeon surprise fight. Sinbad's Eight Generals are definitely on a whole different league. This reminds me that we've never actually seen Sinbad in a proper fight at his full potential so far. If that ever happens, it might be really something to behold.

Aside from the major (?) revelation in chapter 110, there really isn't that much more to talk about this bunch of chapters. Lots of cool action, and great use of their newly developed skills, but aside from that I hope they expand more on the new countries they're bringing up. It'll definitely be interesting to see how wide the reach of Al-Sarmen is throughout the world.

Welp... that's what I'll buy Thursday at Japan Expo.

No more mangas for a while after that.

Magi 111 (aka the chapter everyone forgot was translated!)

I love how well Ali and Sharkkan go together. And Sinbad being Sinbad, he's got Kougyoku completely. I guess her reaction means she knows nothing of Crybaby's secret plot (I forgot if he already said this back then), because she would have been much more composed with Judal.

Also gotta love post-arc parties. The actors were killing me. And after every party, there are the serious talks. Next chapter will be big stuff.

man, I like Hakuryu, but it's just not going to end well is it.

Assassination classroom is meh.

Obviously the teacher is a great character, but everyone else is uninteresting, and the locale got boring during the first chapter.

Dunno if want.

Assassination Classroom 1

I dont really like the design of the teacher but Nagisa is actually really cool. Though he just seems a bit too quiet, unlike a few other protagonists, so for now he is in the good category.

Only $126mln for killing the teacher is rather cheap though, is that really all the world's leaders could come up with for someone trying to destroy half the world?

Dont really see how this can last longer than 30 or so chapters.

Kurogane, up to ch34 - You can almost feel the desperation in trying to keep things going. The counter battle doesn't work well for a serialization, I guess, as not much actually happened over like 10 chapters. A shame, really. It's rather interesting itself.

Though now I'm getting confused at what Sayuri can and cannot do. I mean, I get the training while sleeping bits, okay, but ... showing up to actually hold him up?

Rage End (It turns out I wasn't caught up)

THE HELL IS THIS?!

"Hey, that new guy seems nice and I think he's genuinely into you."

"Really? Interesting. By the way, I'm actually still in love with you. Always have been. Let's never speak again."

Damn.First you want him to rape you, then you decide you can't be together, and now you want to sabotage his new relationship and walk away. This girl is a real piece of work.

I knew this moment would come, but I thought she'd have more tact and be at least a little more apologetic when she dropped the bomb.

Only way for it to last longer than that is if the teacher is training them for a bigger threat. Then it becomes like a full on battle manga, otherwise this should be a relatively short manga.

Why spoil ourselves?
It isn't bad enough that you can say that, it's just some spelling mistakes. Please reserve that comment for the actually bad stuff!

(unless you don't mean what I think you mean)

To be fair it's the first chapter. The only thing it really needed to do was set the circumstances.

Not saying it'll be the case with you guys if it happens, but I never understood why people get annoyed when a bigger goal is revealed after the first chapter's. Even if it wasn't planned (though I doubt that'll happen with a veteran author), I'll enjoy any extension if the followup is good.

Sometimes the extension feels artificial and forced and what follows is boring. Not always but it happens.

I'm just not sure if I want yet another battle manga :x

Violet Blossoms

Let's play a game, try to guess the artist with just this picture

This has to be the most confusing oneshot I ever read. It's not like the story was a mess or anything, it's just about two art students and their complicated relationship, but the way it progressed wasn't as clear as other manga. After reading this post on MAL, it finally clicked.

Oh I forgot to respond to that, there's no way it'll become a battle manga. At worst it'll have light action elements like Neuro, nothing more.

Kinda hard to be action/battle manga when you've got an invincible, broken, all-powerful, moon-destroyer, lunch-in-China main character (which is, fancy that, the same as Neuro.. except for that china part).

You should be prepping for a bunch of new battle manga trying to get a spot in Jump, because the editors will be fishing for Naruto/Bleach/Reborn replacements soon.

Neuro ended up pretty battle manga-ish towards its end.

I'm not sure if it will end up a battle manga, but there's obviously something more to Assassination Classroom.

There's no way the teacher is the actual antagonist.

Magi 111 (aka the chapter everyone forgot was translated!)

What was the point of that group releasing chapter 111 so far ahead of the regular releases anyway? I can understand some situations with newer chapters being released like for example the Sket Dance x Gintama chapter, or special chapters that have no story relevance, but why not help the series catch up with the Japanese releases by going back and translating older chapters that other groups hadn't touched yet? What's worse is they only released that one chapter months ago. The English translations could have been all caught up now if they had kept translating new chapters while the other group released older ones.

The only longstanding other issue possibly in Assassination Classroom is trying to get the students out of that dubious class e, which was just plain odd and baffling how it was even created.

The one year or so deadline gives the impression that it would be short, unless this is supposed to be a gag type kind of slice of lifey series with some action element thrown in.

Zetsune no Tempest 01-16
God damn, this series is so good. Yoshino is such a good lead, the other characters are all pretty awesome, I like the magic system, those damn debates were freaking awesome.
But even worse, that cliffhanger at the end of the last chapter. Junichirou is such a good troll as well.

I feel like I should reread the whole debate. The infrequent translation release made it hard as hell to follow while it was going on.

Neuro ended up pretty battle manga-ish towards its end.
Sicks' ability was sorta out of nowhere, but given that it was still lighter on the action that it could've been.

But, I liked it, and I heard people say it was really badly rushed and bad and stuff, so maybe I'm just delusional or something.

Well he already went and put in an anti-SoL element (the once-a-month trick).

The deadline doesn't have to be the end of the manga, y'know. It can just be an arc. It's not like they'll just... kill the teacher and the manga will end then and there.

That's more or less what I'm expecting, to be honest. We'll see.

But I'll have lost battle manga by then and the replacement will be fine!

Are you getting hyped for the anime this Fall by BONES? From the director and character designer of SWORD OF THE STRANGER, and the composer of the original FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST. Are you excited yet?

That's half the reason I decided to start the series, since I knew an anime was coming out of it.

After reading it, yes, I'm fully hyped!

Yotsuba 80 (although technically 79.5 but nearly 40 pages is a lot )

Slightly different take on a Yotsuba chapter which usually focuses on one thing (e.g. Yotsuba and her dad go to the supermarket to get dinner), ch. 80 has multiple events happening (continuation from the Yotsuba and Blue, grocery store, going to the bike store, making dinner, playtime, and bedtime). I really liked how Azuma naturally depicts a literal slice of life moment.

(random panels that made me laugh for some reason)

I do find it weird that Yotsuba isn't in school even though she's five (her dad is always working so I kind of doubt home-schooling).

Kids on the Slope
As the anime ending was very disappointing, I've decided to checked out the manga and I'm glad I did since the manga ending is so much better it's not even funny. Up to that point the anime is a pretty faithful adaptation but they'e botched the anime ending pretty hard by leaving out most of the last volume. Highly recommended for slice of life and bromance fans.
