Calling chicken scratch Oda an artist is an insult to all artists out there.

Drawing ugly characters is not original, it just shows that Oda is talentless.

You're like me when I was 13. Nice. Fortunately, I gave it a shot later on to realize how wrong I was. Drawing original and different looking characters is original. Sure, you think it looks ugly, but you can't deny they don't look original.

Kubo's art is bland. The clothes look great, but that doesn't do much when the characters all look similar. Seriously, just look at Ishida and Ichigo's face. Why are there so many Aizens? Yawn.

One Piece:What are you not understanding about Emperors, Shichibukai, and Admirals? The CP9 and none of the villains I mentioned were part of those groups at the time they were introduced. If they aren't part of those groups or associated with those groups then it's not an issue. Blackbeard wasn't part of those groups when he was first introduced, so that's why I mentioned him. Him being a major part of the story and not part of those groups at the time was a GOOD THING. This is something that hasn't happened in a long time in One Piece and that's an issue IMO.

We knew that BB was once part of a Emperor crew before we even meet him .
So all of a sudden because he leave it don't matter .
Hodi was not part of any those groups , hell he had more back story than most CP9 members even if he did suck as a boss villain .
For a manga that has been going on for 15 plus years i wonder what you call a long time.

And Lucci and all of those enemies were more interesting than what we've been given in Punk Hazard excluding Law and DoFlamingo. Because not only did Oda spend more time building them up as bad asses, but he didn't rely on end of chapter "this character is a underling/member of this super hyped up group" cliffhangers to get it done.

Oda spend more time on some of them like Lucci , he hardly spend time on Magellan but he did not need to with a title of Head Jailer for prison that has not been broken into for 800 years.
Magellan also had a kick ass DF .

First, you're changing Admirals/Shichibukai/Emperors into the 3 Main Super Powers. I have no issues with Marine enemies vs the Admirals. Second, this isn't an issue with just the New World. This issue I'm talking about started with Thriller Bark. So that's 2 years + worth of arcs Oda could have thrown in a story with no connection to these three groups and that's why I have a problem with it.

So your saying Oda should say to him self that the SH just fight some one with a connection to those 3 lets throw in somebody that has no connection to them just because .
Even though Oda spend the first half of the manga having them do a whole bunch of stuff to make them world renowned , beating high level enemies moving up the food chain , moving further into the sea and having a 2 year time skip all so we can get to this point .
Also can you explain to me why you put Admirals is there own group , since they are part of the marines and the SH have been working there way up on there list .

Third you're missing the bigger issue, and that's villain build up. Even if Oda did just focus on these three groups, I would have less of a problem if he built more of the new villains within those groups up the way he built up characters like Crocodile, Lucci, and Enel or even Magellan. But he doesn't do that anymore with a lot of these characters because he can just associate them into these three groups and "instantly they are awesome".

I am not really missing the bigger issue you want villain build up but your not even giving Oda the chance to do it .
When we first found out about Croc it took us to 2 arcs before we even get Alabasta and a fair amount of chapters before he fought Croc .
Lucci had water 7 and then the Enies Lobby , Enel had a long arc for him self also .
This is the first arc for the NW and it has 20 chapters so far , DoFlamingo could be the main villain but like Croc we find about him early and they fight him in the next arc or 2 while beating some of his guys before they reach him.

Because he only draws one face and then puts different hair on it.

Too blinded by the swag to pay attention to everyone's complaints.

Derp. I see you still have the mentality of a 13 year old. I knew this would rattle you. All according to plan.

Lol, bland

This obliterates everything that Oda "draws" or will ever "draw"

This is almost as good as Isshin´s chapter cover.

For all his deficiencies Kubo is very good at chiaroscuro, which is incidentally my favorite style of shading.

Dat noir.

After seeing the sheer magnitude of manliness in that Jojo PS3 trailer. I'm picking this bad boy up. How's the release schedule for new chapters? (Obviously have 7 parts to finish first lol)

Also: I actually prefer the uniformity of Kishimoto's art nowadays. It was too ''raw'' or wild originally. I miss how the Nine Tails is drawn though.

it's decent especially compared to the kind of releases Jojo got.

Art is subjective, news at 11.

Not drawing backgrounds is his style, he likes it for whatever reason. Moreover, comparing Oda's art and Kubo's art is rather pointless since they aren't going for the same effect at all.

About Jojo : are the first two parts worth reading ? Or can you just start with the third one (the most popular it seems). Tonkam might republish it soon so...

I read the first part recently and about halfway through in the second part, they are pretty good. I don't know how they compare to the later parts, but on their on, they are fine battle shounen manga.

Phantom blood sets up dio, and has the badass william in it. The second one is josephs story, so read the hell out of that one as well. The only one I can't read is the 4th due to shitty scans.

Why lash out at Oda? You're acting like a little child who just found out people like different things than you.

It's the norm , some people say things they don't like about Bleach or Big One say something and that happens.
Truth is there are so many people out with better art than the big 3 IMO .

I think it's unfair to include Murata here because he just blows everyone else out of the water.

Blue Dragon Obata was probably better.
He also drew the hottest non-porn in the history of Shounen Jump.

Shame about how stupidly lazy he got with Bakuman.

It's not about who has better art. It's that whenever anyone says anything negative about Bleach/Kubo, beam retaliates with "yeah, but One Piece/Oda more!" I know actual infant children with more maturity.

That's like 50% black. Are you being serious?
Yes i am totally serious about the drawing being amazing. There´s one thing that no one or very few notice about the drawing. Notice how Isshin´s cigarette smoke transform the colors of the Bleach letters it touches to black. Reverse Bleaching if you will. I really like that page. I also really like this chapter cover as well

Relax bro, i am just yanking their chain.

I don't remember much about Blue Dragon except TITS.

I'd say you can start with whatever part you want. I mean, I started with SBR (because Zeppeli on the cover was just too cool) and didn't have any problems.

They were deliciously drawn tits. Either way, the guy used to dominate solid drawing, proportions and perspective. What the fuck happened to him?

Taiyo Matsumoto shits all over your Jump artists

I like Taiyo Matsumoto, but I only really love his art in Zamurai. It really is the (current) peak of his career as an artist.

I wish Murata did another artbook for Eyeshield 21. I bought the first one (well the only one) some years ago, my treasure. :')

Medaka Box

I'm half thinking Medaka's gonna flat out reject him next chapter, just because this manga is that kind of manga.

I'll laugh if it follows the One Piece anime's dreadful pacing of one chapter an episode.

Actually, I'd cry my eyes out.
If anything I'm more scared it'll be the ratio of a volume per episode. No doubt it'll be at least a bit rushed if they're doing a full adaption.

I'd say you can start with whatever part you want. I mean, I started with SBR (because Zeppeli on the cover was just too cool) and didn't have any problems.
SBR is.. a bit different. I'd say it would not be a good choice to start Parts 4, 5 or 6 first. And the only reason I'm not saying 3 is because so many will be angry at me, but really, 3 gets a lot better when you have 1 and 2 in your brain.

I was going to put one I was looking for in my previous post, so there it is:

Geez.

Takemitsu Zamurai

Why are you comparing a monthly Seinen to a weekly shonen manga? Monthly mangaka have more time to put more details into their average 25-35 pages a month while Shonen mangaka have to pump 17-18 pages a week.

This why i really hope Kubo´s next manga is a Seinen. The art would be too amazing.

Mechanically speaking, it's okay to start with 3 because the way fights happen COMPLETELY changes. Plot wise, it's good to have 1 and 2 in your mind. Honestly, I wasn't that crazy about 1 and only like 2 in retrospect after reading part 3, so stick with it even if you aren't crazy about it.
