I can't make any of that on a low carb diet. :(

You can my Squiddybiscuit Cookies!

Based on my low-carb crust pizza:

Take 1.5 cups of almond meal (mix almonds if you don't have this) and mix it with 1 tablespoon of rape seed (or just vegetable) oil, a quarter of a teaspoon of salt, a quarter of a teaspoon of baking powder, and one egg.

If you have any artificial sweeteners then I suggest you pour a ton of it in.

Otherwise, just bake in the oven for 20 minutes, and once cool enough - top it with whipped cream and enjoy!

Anyone wants to be buds and play Uncharted 3 online?

I play on UC3 from time to time, not much these days cause I'm a bit burnt out on it. I might go back to it full time once more legacies come out so I can level up my character yet again. :D

Sure you can! Just make a few cookies and have them on your cheat meal. I'm on a keto diet and on most Saturdays I take my cheat meal. For an hour, I stuff myself to the brim. I bake my own cakes from scratch and just dig in.

Those look delicious, and I think I have pretty much all the ingredients for them.
I think I'll give this a go, and maybe give it a twist.

Mine have dark chocolate chunks and some coconut in them as I didn't have chocolate chips. Batter is hanging out in the fridge right now :)

Monk, I'm not baking them for another hour or so, so... :(

Exodus, I'm generally lower carb as well...but I'm also PMSing so...that kind of wins out :p

It's okay, maybe tomorrow, when I wake up I will have some Cookies on my mail box! *wink wink*

Good thing no one is home seeing me trying to lick my monitor >_>

Also, I love your glasses. Mine are rimless and I hate them.

You have the kind I wanted but couldn't get. :|

*tries to cover up monitor* Nooooo, don't show me pictures of cookies! I'll have to go get some!

I have the hardest time finding glasses that suit my face. There's only one shape of glasses that look good on me and they aren't in style at all right now :(

Also, those cookies look wonderful Leeness!

I've been wanting to make a batch of these for a while. I've got a good bit of bacon fat saved up. Only problem is, I don't know where to find maple extract.

Maple Pecan Bacon Cookies

Ingredients

1 ½ cups flour
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ cup bacon drippings
1 teaspoon maple extract
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
¼ – ½ cup crumbled bacon – save the drippings from this for another use or add to your already existing drippings to make 1/2 cup (make sure you refrigerate until solid if you add it to the drippings you already have)
½ cup toasted chopped pecans

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet.
Mix together the flour, salt, and baking soda.
Cream together the bacon drippings and brown sugar.
Mix in egg and maple extract.
Mix in dry ingredients.
Mix in bacon and pecans.
Drop tablespoons of dough 1 inch apart pressing down to flatten out a bit.
Bake for 12 minutes then remove from oven, let cool on baking sheets a few minutes, and then transfer to a cooling rack.
Prepare to have your mind-blown by the flavor of bacon.

Kitsune, those cookies sound intense! Haha.

Do you have any baking stores near you? Maple extract is common here, but...you know. Canada. You may need to pick it up online :O

Still on my old broken frames.

I think I've gone through half a dozen+ over the past five years.
One lost
One broke due to stupid things
One broke at work
One broke due to drinking
One got paint? on it. All I know is that it had a permanent blue spot on it regardless of how hard I scrubbed.

I had one more pair, can't remember. I think this was the one I fell asleep with on.

Actually studied Japanese and Art in college, but I'm planning to go for my Masters in linguistics. :D I earned a certificate in language teaching which piqued my interest in linguistics and now I've been self-studying the subject for awhile.

Wordiness is the best thing to increase.

Wow. That's... ambitious... is the only word I can think of. I did enough linguistics in my undergrad degree to know it was horribly complicated and I was not smart enough.

I've got some trouble finding good glasses for myself as well. You can vaguely see my current ones in my avatar. They look kinda like this, but without the sunglasses part.

They're the best ones I've had, but still not great.

*feels proud of his B.A. in Linguistics for like the second or third time ever*

That's what I'll probably have to do. Normal grocery stores only carry vanilla, almond, orange, and lemon usually. There's a few gourmet and specialty shops around here but it'd be kind of a crap shoot. If I can find a good extract company online I'll stock up on all kinds of unusual flavors, like hazelnut and pistachio.

Speaking of which, has anyone tried this pistachio liqueur?

I've been sipping it tonight and it's amazing. Like amaretto but less cloying and pistachio instead of almond.
