been forever since I last read something by Nihei, so... Abara it is.
It's one of those things where if you took out all the dialogue it'd be a better product overall. Nihei still can't draw faces. But...
As good as it looks (and individually each panel is striking), there's always a nagging sense that things just don't match up sequentially at times.

Crow nickname reminds me of Air Gear's Ikki. I should get around to reading Haikyu as the characters look good, had been hoping Sj Alpha would have included it, over Yugioh, tbh.
It's really good, the author can pull off some gorgeous panels. The balance between humor and epic actions reminds of Eyeshield 21 for some reason.
The humor is great. Every time Tanaka makes a punk face I just have a sudden burst of laughter. And then when MC comes up behind him, that's a finisher. It's reserved only for the really serious business.
MC's hand just flat out materializing in front of the ball out of nowhere is pretty crazy, haven't gotten tired of it yet.
Dunno what you like about the art though, it's sorta iffy (foreheads! foreheads for free! foreheads for everybody!!). He got the speed feel down, but that's it.
Well, I loved that one panel for instance.
That's just my opinion though, I just happen to dig the art style, can't really explain why.

So... the plot got kicked into overtime. I read Akune's fight which was great fight btw, I fucking love how this manga doesn't do designated gender fights. (I was afraid Akune would bs his way out of the fight by saying he doesn't hit girls.) and Medaka / Magura's sister showed up, and she's pretty messed up.
I actually predicted that this would happen to her at one point in the story and even with her getting nerfed she's still a boss. There's definitely more to Medaka than being just an abnormal and I love how the author conveys that. Though I wonder what happens next... losing her powers (abnormals = superheroes / benders from avatars, etc) AND her memories.

I guess next chapter well finally be at that key action part (and the blu ray will be out, finally). The entire page for this panel and the next was so hilarious, Shion never gets Nezumi's jokes and takes him so serious. Though, as long as it keeps Shion sane and focused in the midst of all this death and blood. The whole thing was intense, or probably more so than the anime, dont recall them trying to kill the man, or Shion not trying to help him, or climbing teh dead bodies. Definitely one of my favorite recent manga.

Just finished Sakamichi no Apollon
That was really great, I loved how things unraveled in this manga, there were twists and turns just like real life, but it never stopped being relatable, which was an immense pleasure. It was also the first manga I have finished, so I am really looking for suggestions.
I have seen plenty of Anime, but I always felt that reading manga was a chore, but now with the Ipad and the manga reader it's so effortless to get to the things I like.
I always had my eye on Berserk, so I will try to read that next.
But what are other things in vein of Sakamichi no Apollon? In anime I have always loved Bebop and Champloo, I like things that aren't too silly, even though I really like Airgear, and that one manga with the guy having a girl for his hand, that was hilarious.

I haven't actually finshed reading/watching Kids on the Slope but based on what I've seen of it and what you say you like about it I would recommend Solanin. It's a realistic slice of life story with a slight musical element and is just really good.

I simply cannot imaging a short series with a romantic subplot not just pissing me off even if it is great. I assume you might tell me it is more SoL / drama about daily lives. But I'll still be mad. Mad as hell.

I'm teasing. Sorta. But TBH, I'm forever puzzled why you guys like doing this.
It's just -> short romance plot. I can't stand drawn out ones (His and Her Never-ending Circumstances) or short ones that typically highlight short segments of the romance then move to a time skip / tragedy (5 Centimeters Per Second). A series like Monkey High, which is not the greatest, does it right. 8 volumes, no skips, highlights multiple segments, concludes nicely. Punpun also has amazing romance pacing where it never feels dwelled on nor cut short. You know, Yankee-kun also had fantastic pacing until it completely fucked itself. What a tank.

I ended up finishing this arc, and although I would have enjoyed it if Medaka didn't stomp oudo, it was still a great arc. I'm worried though, now that she can use any abnormal ability at 120% efficiency, how is anyone supposed to give her any trouble? (Like reflex guy). Does that manga artist introduce anymore characters that can oppose her (no spoilers!) and will I find any fights that are on par with match the she had with reflex guy and zenkishi, because those were amazing.
Unless I'm remembering something wrong, they introduce a character who can oppose her the chapter she beats Oudo lol.
And, yeah, anytime you ask if Medaka Box can top itself: it does.
I'll say this once dude, Medaka Box 1-ups itself every single arc.
