Just don't get thrown off by the artwork. It's not "Hunter X Hunter chicken scratches bad" but if you can get past it the manga is great and it is really damn crazy Jump passed on it for some of the crap they are running right now.

These are all assumptions, but:
1) He wasn't sure if he and the human he was talking to spoke the same language. Considering humanity is almost wiped out/living in a couple of areas behind walls and assuming there are no other places humans live that the author hasn't told us about, I doubt there are many other languages for humans to speak in this world besides the main language being used right now. So this tells me he hasn't had much verbal interaction or any interaction at all with the last remaining humans.
2) He didn't know what the weapon they used to jump around was. Most humans behind the walls should know what these weapons are or at the very least could easily find out what these weapons are and how they work since they aren't a secret.
3) If this Titan could turn into a human, why ask humans questions as a Titan vs asking the human questions as a human? As intelligent as the Titan is from the few pages we've seen, the most obvious thing he could do with this ability is infiltrate the human society and get information/ask questions/steal a weapon that way vs capturing a human with a group of Titans.

Enjoyed this more than I probably should've done. It's a light-hearted assassin series that started off silly and developed into something that's... still silly, but with a bit more direction. It also taught me more about the wonders of modern Japan and how vastly superior it is to
Gimmie a few more chapters to make a decision. You can't rush something as important as this.

Bokura no Oukoku 1 - end
Finally finished it, even though I owned it in piece never got around to continuing it even further. But it was worth the time to go through nine volumes. I enjoyed it for it managed to be a bit more of an entertaining bl than I expected, and I even managed to endure the initially occasionally awkward faces. Really its like the artists couldnt draw characters in one angle. But that seemed resolved by the time the story got going.
Worked really well during the intense drama scenes like kidnappings at sea and even misunderstandings. Most characters had nice amounts of attention and even in their respective pairings. I kind of wish Raoul's was explored, he was like the third in the love triangle, but I think that was covered in a side story Ive yet to check out, but overall entertaining drama, story, and romance stuff.
Now on to three volumes of tegami bachi

There is no cancelled and not cancelled. There's only 1 more cour (as in 12-13 episodes) planned, so it's probably going to cover the flask plan arc and that's it. This is Gainax we're talking about; they wouldn't do a long-running show unless season 2 somehow exploded in sales (doubtful since season 1 bombed).

Majority of the trope shit is likely fantasy. In the past 5 months or so, I've gotten to know a lot of native people from Japan. Some of the behavior stuff has some merit but other stuff is completely off. But I will say the cultures are vastly different with the gap only really closing from Tokyo natives and such.
He's got 4 girls in queue. He can do whatever he wants.
