That's nothing a bit of hostage taking by the GOP can't "fix". It worked incredibly well so far. No reason in their minds why it shouldn't work just as well again....and again, and again, and again....

If you've watched any of the amendment sparring, you'll see that they add (for example) the Keystone pipeline to everything, and then extract concessions from the Democrats from actually relevant programs. So in every compromise, the Democrats give up different things, and the Republicans give up the pipeline over and over.

Romney and rnc 160 million on hand which will be higher than Obama and dnc.

And yes this does matter.

And, Crossroads just announced they're dropping $40 million in ads. Time to see how much money can buy you in an election.

It's going to be hilarious seeing the navel-gazing when Romney still loses with so much traditional stuff going for him.

I am sure Obama campaign would rather beer in that position than in one where they ask for 3$ every week.

Money on politics has become very important.

$3 is just for the plebes to feel like they are actually contributing. The real donors are at the $36,000 a plate dinners and overseas.

Except for the most important thing: incumbency

Well Obama can actually raise significant amounts of money from the plebes. Romney has to rely on a rich old white men which means more dinners are necessary.

Report: Nearly 80% of Obama’s (2008) Top Bundlers Given “Key Administration Posts”

The report says that 184 out of 556, or about one third of 2008 Obama campaign “bundlers” — donors who agree to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for a campaign – “or their spouses joined the administration in some role. But the percentages are much higher for the big-dollar bundlers. Nearly 80 percent of those who collected more than $500,000 for Obama took ‘key administration posts,’ as defined by the White House.

Well Obama can actually raise significan amounts of money from the plebes. Romney has to rely on a rich old white men which means more dinners are necessary.

Um, you may want to peruse Obama's top bundlers list. It's essentially old white men, Wall Street, and lobbyists - as is the case for pretty much any politician.

This seems to pretty much be how most Obama supporters view him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OpgiNEyBVA&feature=youtu.be Disturbing.

He does? I know above comes from Open Secrets. Serious question, where does Obama's campaign do the release?

NOTE: Federal Election Commission regulations only require disclosure of funds bundled by registered lobbyists. In 2008, both Barack Obama and John McCain agreed to disclose any bundlers who raised over $50,000 for their campaigns. Obama's re-election campaign is again disclosing those bundlers for the 2012 election. No 2012 Republican presidential candidates have agreed to voluntarily disclose their entire bundlers lists. As such, the only bundlers listed for Republican candidates are registered lobbyists.

registered lobbyists have bundled a total of $0 for Gary Johnson's presidential campaign.

Squeaky clean!

I don't see how that contradicts his statement that Obama can raise a lot of money from "plebes." Also, at least Obama bothers to release information on his bundlers.

It wasn't meant as a contradiction, merely piggybacking on Kosmo's point that the "real" donors are at the higher levels.

So are you and kosmo suggesting we should limit these "real donors" to prevent them from having influence over campaigns?

All of you seem to be suggesting that Gary Johnson is the correct person to vote for if clean campaign fund raising is something you care about.

but but but but Romney might win if my vote happens to be the lone one that matters provided it's counted!

Unfortunately we live in a world were we have to weigh each of a candidates views and while I would vote for him based off compaign spending the majority of other issues he supports I would not.

No, I am saying it's stupid to point out at the amount of "regular guy" money when the reality is they have zero influence over either candidate. I'm guessing that was your implication by pointing out that Obama will likely outraise Romney on smaller donations.

It's important to note that Obama's ability to raise smaller donations was widely misinterpreted in 2008. One study showed that Obama's total contributions (when measured by donor by their aggregate donation) was in-line with the 2004 George W Bush campaign. About 25 percent of the total donor base.

Keep on beating that stick...

lol

Seems like a straightforward question. It's good to see a candidate posting donors like that, and Romney should do the same. So seriously, where is the link to that list on the site? I could be completely blind on this.

As for personal donations, I give $0. I have zero influence, other than my vote, so why throw away money.

Its a release they do every quarter, so it is like a news release. Not a website section.

Oh ok, so it's like those sunglasses kiosks in the mall - if you know the right thing to ask, they open up the bottom drawer with the goo counterfeits/brand name stuff.

Man you really want this to look bad. Here's a hint: It doesn't.

PS - At least now I know how to do some serious sunglasses shopping.

Dems still acting like they can severe the wealthy cuts from the rest. Obama would have to refuse to extend the entire Bush tax cuts, let them expire ie raise everyone's taxes, then propose a middle class tax cut to replace it. I don't see republicans allowing him to do that
Two-year extension on top two brackets, permanent on rest. Does GOP take that deal?

How the hell do doctors get away with these costs just for scheduling an appointment? I don't have health insurance, and I'm calling around to see the cost to see a dermatologist. Many of the offices charges between $100-$400 . I ask the receptionist I just had a question about skin condition below my nose. The lady still insists it depends on what he does.

How are people suppose to know how much money to bring? Jesus Christ. I went to TampaBayMetro.com/best_doctors, and I found one dermatologist that charges $104. I'm probably gonna do that. My mother thinks I should go to a free clinic, but I really think they would just send me to see a dermatoligist. What do you guys think? Free clinic or just pay the $104 to see a derm?

Dermatologists are the worst - a lot of what they prescribe isn't even covered (and still won't be covered under PPPACA) because they are considered cosmetic and not a medical necessity.

What do you have, dry/red skin? Try some Psoriacin.

The sweet, sweet taste of freedom from medical tyranny.

Just to be clear, we're talking about extending the Obama tax cuts, right? Once he extended them the first time, they are no longer the Bush tax cuts.

Just to be clear, are you for extending these tax cuts? For everyone or just for high income earners? Or not for extending it at all?

Just to be clear, are you for extending these tax cuts? For everyone or just for high income earners? Or not for extending it at all?

I'm for extending them and establishing a simpler federal income tax system - even if that means higher rates on higher incomes. What I hate is a large portion of the electorate paying nothing in federal income taxes and then whining about the people actually paying taxes. It can be as simple as 15% on everything up to $200K and 25% over that (just throwing those out as examples). Clean and simple. The question is, how much spine does Obama have to let them expire - I'm guessing very little.

I find this the worst type of politics - you'll have the President out there shouting that a full extension will give top earners a $66,000 tax cut, while the bottom 20% will only get $107. Well, if that is so deplorable, then man up and say we cannot afford to extend the tax cuts and while that means the bottom 20% will have a $107 increase, it will help the federal coffers by top earners paying an extra $66,000 a year.
