Question guys, how does one create an Apple ID on the iphone without having to supply a credit card number? I don't have one and would just like to download a couple of free apps. The account creation process in the device demands credit card info.

I think if you input a itunes vouchers code then you don't need to input the credit card details, thats what I did.

Awesome. Can never have enough Minter games.

So how is that Adventure Time game?

It's maybe fifteen or twenty minutes long but if you're a big fan of the show I'd say it's worth the buck. It's very easy, though, so don't expect a challenge. Hopefully the game does well enough to make Cartoon Network want to put more Adventure Time games on the Appstore. Same goes for Regular Show.

Thanks. Yeah, I see now that I could have searched more.

Any comment on how it plays on iPhone vs, iPad? I'm stuck with the small screen.
I just tried it on an iPhone and it was fine. There are a ton of Picross options out there (I like others more, but I can't think of their names at the moment because their on my mom's iPad).

But oh!cube is incredible.

I don't know about creating one since I created mine years ago, but I know that there is an option to have no credit card info linked to your account after you set it up.

Download a free app on your iPhone and create an iTunes account from there. You shouldn't need to input a credit card then. At least I didn't have to when I created a NZ account to get Pocket Planes early

Because you can never have too many tower defense games on your iPad:

CODES GONE

Enjoy!

No, no you can't. :)

Attention Carcassonne players!

We're setting up a Carcassonne tournament in the iOS board game thread and need 3 more players to complete a bracket of 32. If you're interested in filling one of the last few slots check out this post and reply with your GameCenter name and your Friend ELO in Carc.

I bought Mass Effect: Infiltrator on a GAF recommendation when it was on sale for 1gold and I'm enjoying it but I somehow feel that it'd be better on a bigger device. Not iPad but something in between *wink*

Finally finished Guardian Saga - level 24, all three bonus dungeons clear, all "secret" equipment. What a treat that was. It's already been said, but you enjoyed old school RPGs, this is one worth playing.

Ascension and Nightfall are the best, hands down. Very active GAF-community too.

Yeeesss join us in the iOS BG thread -- fantastic games and implementations. Need to get some more Nightfall games going actually. There's also the Dominion app which is coming out...at some point this year?

Their are three bonus dungeons? Are they are long as the normal ones, man I still have a ways to go then. Just finished off the boss of the earth dungeon and only got the fire one to do now.

That's what they said. People have seen it, so it's not non-existent. That being said, I'm concerned about their implementation. I hope it's at least as good as the fan-made game, only with more expansions and better, four-player online play. I'd be content with that.

I've gone into a 2 step program to help me with my CSR Racing addiction. Step one was completing the game and now I'm on step 2 where I delete the game.

I'll delete it tomorrow. Honest. Maybe just a couple more races for old times sake.

I want my King of Dragon Pass iPad update. They just updated the blog saying that it is still coming, and I am so fucking hyped. It's a pity it isn't retina, but it will do!

Can't fucking wait. Holding the urge to play a long campaign for this, I really want to play this on the ipad.

Re : Spellsword

Dev posted update info on TA this morning:
The update is now being finished up with the update submitting hopefully today! After that, its all in Apples hands for approval.

The update adds the new map along with 60 new missions with more missions on the previous stages, along with new enemies and spell cards.

They each increase a little bit in length. The first one is about as long as Metal, second is close to Water/Wind (can't remember the second, haha), and the last one is the longest and most confusing (and longer than the Fire dungeon).

Without spoiling how to get into the extra dungeons, I'll say that you should talk to everyone in the final town to get some hints. :) Also, if you're up for it, Hobb grinding for the best shield in the game (which will cost you a killer 9999g) isn't a terrible idea. It has 22 def and has a small chance to negate all damage. Not necessary, especially because Hobb farming is annoying as shit, but it IS the best shield in the game. Not to mention, you'll want some levels before going into the extra dungeons as the monsters in there hit harder than almost everything in the game.

What I personally did is the use those special dungeon as grinding for the last shield. Oddly enough, its like the creators of the game thought about that because going through the 3 dungeons without too much messing around gave me 9999$. I therefore went for the last part of the game and kicked it. ;)

Can someone describe King of Dragon Pass? The screenshots make it look like a Choose Your Own Adventure, but it's $10. Hard to justify $10 on a Choose Your Own Adventure when Fighting Fantasy books are $3.

Did you manage to finish the game without IAP?

choose your own adventure + civ is the best i got.

And i picked up ascension. App is quite elegant. Wish my iphone was a bit bigger so I didn't have to double tap every single card (cuz I don't know them). Seems like a good time waster on the train though.

Any general tips?

Yup. Didn't spend any money, didn't link to any FB or Twitter or any of that shit. I've beaten all bosses and all ladder matches, got some 'restricted' events left on tiers 4 & 5 that I may or may not bother with. It's a fun little distraction.

That was probably smarter, haha. With the accessory that restores MP as you walk, that shield definitely isn't necessary as you can pretty much heal whenever you need it for "free". @One Foul Note, if you opt for bonus dungeons, do what this guy says. :P Save yourself the hassle.

Hmm, interesting. I might give it another go then. I played for about 5 minutes and then felt something trying to grab my wallet, so I deleted.

It's fucking savage with the IAP but as long as you're willing to grind a little and wait for the cars to go on sale, it can be done. Don't bother trying to win the boss car unless you've totally upgraded your car and / or you're willing to buy the one-use super boost. I got through the game without needing any of the boss cars.

That's nice to know. I think I spent all of my stars too quickly to unlock the heroes though. Should've upgraded my units a bit first lol.

I found the best thing to upgrade is the power of your meteor storm (and arrows a close second). It will save your ass a lot on some maps.

I beat the whole game without ever using a hero. So, they are more of a luxury item than anything.

Deleted Outwitters after about 2 minutes, just found it incredibly slow paced and no where near as accessible as say Hero Academy unfortunately.

The problem is, one of the games I was playing was a 2 vs 2 - if I leave, can someone else stand in my place? Or should I re-install and at least complete that game?

It's a very deep strategy/management game that plays out like a choose your own adventure. Very unique, and tons of fun.

It is very deep, and quite fun (or addictive at least) but I found it's very easy to get completely stuck in a rut so to speak.

On my third playthrough I made great progress, managed to create a clan that unlike my first was very prosperous, managed to complete a lot of quests and everything was going swimmingly, then suddenly I was hit with a never-ending famine that I spent literally hours (real time) trying to recover from. Quite frustrating and have no intention to go back.

Of course he's kidding.

What has happened to the internet.

But yeah, I saw that the other morning and was dubious, I doubt there's anything legally wrong with it but it's cheap as fuck. Assuming that they created all the faces themselves anyway.

Any word on when Walking Dead will be released?

Pocket Heroes will be coming out this week, I'm looking forward to exploring some dungeons with GAF.
