Tiny Wings 2 is an insta-buy. Which got me thinking... How long must I wait for my next fix of GeoDefense??? I'll even settle for more level packs at this point...

Ski Safari dudes: how the hell do you do the Bust Through 5 Clouds in a Row challenge??

I can't even do 4!

Are you riding a specific animal/vehicle when going for it?

Have you updated the game recently? I'm not sure if that's the challenge, as I just recently reinstalled the game on my phone, but I know that in the most recent update the dev said part of the update deleted an impossible challenge. That could be the one.

I'm struggling too. I assume the secret might be to use an eagle...?

Not that mission. The one they fixed was literally impossible.

Arrrrrgh, I just burst through 4 clouds on an eagle, the eagle died, and then when I approached the 5th cloud, I didn't have enough momentum to break through it.

But yeah, seems like the eagle's the way to go.

Yeah. And I already played that game. Did Rovio just buy it from someone else? I'm positive I played that game. Same assets, same blonde haired kid (I think). Did they buy the rights to it?

They did buy it-I think it was called Casey's Contraptions. I don't see what the big deal is-it's an interesting type of gameplay-they're putting their teams and money behind it and are trying something different than Angry Birds. If you like the style of game, you can probably assume that Rovio will continue to update the game with new levels...

If I have to rebuy the game...

Why wouldn't you? As far as I'm aware it's not the same game, and it uses new assets as well as new art.

This cost money you know.

Rovio bought the license and is doing another game with it. I don't see the big deal about it.

I also paid money for the original game...you know. I never sync to iTunes and Casey's Contraptions is gone from my purchase list on my iPad.

People who are into visual novels like Jake Hunter on DS, I recommend getting Manhattan Requiem. The game used to be whooping $10.99 5 months ago, now it's only 99 cents!

edit: now its $4.99

I've been playing Carnivores: Ice Age after picking it up on sale recently. Awhile ago I rediscovered Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter, which I used to love on PC back in the day. I'm not a big hunting game fan, but these games click for me (maybe its the dinosaurs?).

They've got me interested in trying more hunting games, hopefully something with a bit more in the ways of progression. Can anyone recommend me something on iOS? I've looked a bit but most of it seems to be shooting gallery type stuff, as opposed to actually exploring an open environment, mstalkimg your prey.

Try Deer Hunter Reloaded. It's not as open as Carnivores (cant freely explore an entire island), but it's still good fun, and looks stunning on the new iPad. It's also free (with IAP)

Wow so the original game that rovio basically bought to reskin / update is now actually unavailable in your account history? That is so shit of apple and Rovio.

I also hate this auto spellcheck on my iPad, makes things slower then they need to be.

They haven't even changed much about the look of the character. Kind of funny, really.

They've given hima mullet. Great.

I'm pretty annoyed that Casey's Contraptions is no longer in my purchases. I know it's only a couple of quid, but it's the principal of the matter. Rovio will not get my monies.

Bought Kingdom Rush for iPhone yesterday. I like it very much. My all time favorite tower defense game is Creeps, but I think Kingdom Rush is going to be my favorite. It doesn't have as much levels as Creeps though.

CSR is a truely horrible grindfest, it doesn't even try to disguise the fact the entire game makes it impossible to get by without IPA

Around 10 minutes in, absolutely nailing my timings etc and NOS usage but still can't come close to winning certain races

It's not impossible, but it is a grind.

Is Dead Trigger out for iOS? How is it?
It's good. Don't believe the haters. The only place it was "generally disliked" was the one review on TA. I don't recall seeing any hate around here (except for Enco's post) and though it is a little grindy, it's no moreso than something like IB (in fact, it's far, FAR less). Haven't spent a cent other than the app cost and I've gotten at least a good 5-6 hours out of it.

Environments and such are a little repetitive, but the mechanics are decent enough that it hasn't really gotten boring (yet).

Anyone else here get Super Ox Wars? Holy shit that game is awesome. It's just the right side of Bullet Hell (I call it "Bullet Heck" :D) to be fun but not frustrating. Minter's best iOS game, IMO.

Well, the one boss pink slip battle I faced literally *was*, unless you dropped a few bucks on the "special" nitro. Rest of it, definitely drawn out but not impossible.

Same. I don't think you can win the boss cars without that in-app purchase, although someone told me that a perfect run with a fully upgraded car does the trick, but I'm sceptical.

My current stats are as follows (level 47):

Best 1/2 Mile: 12.827secs
Best 1/4 Mile: 8.287secs
Total Cash: $8,611,238
Cars Owned: 14
Races won: 729/1090
Time spent playing: 19h 30m
Time spent in garage: 3h 3m
Distance driven: 365.66 miles

Seems I've played it rather a lot.

Yeah, I dunno where this "generally disliked" came from. I liked the game too, though it's not without it's fair share of flaws. Still, for 0.99 it's a fun, if repetitive, arcade zombie shooter. Some people were expecting Left4Dead on iOS though, but that's just naive.

Didn't see a post about this yet.

Tiny Wings 2.0 is actually a free update for the original game as a thank you to the fans. There is also an HD version for $2.99 (iCloud saves). Both now support retina. Splitscreen iPad multiplayer.

Interesting...anything new other than retina? Not sure id spend 2.99 just for an ipad version. Seems a little behind the times not to have a universal build.
