He shouldn't even mention the president. Instead his speech should be about the positives associated with him being in office versus the current state of things. It would be his symbolic plea to the black community for support - a win. End of story.

Obama has been hovering around the 50 mark in Wisconsin over the last three months. “Barack Obama’s the clear favorite to win Wisconsin,” said Dean Debnam, President of PPP said in a release. “But it looks like it will be a much closer race than his 14 point victory in 2008.”

The current PollTracker Average of the presidential race in Wisconsin shows the President with a 5.2 percent lead.

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker (R), who faced a recall election on June 5th, is into positive territory at 51 percent approval versus 46 disapproval. Walker had faced a negative rating through most of 2011, after he proposed and eventually pushed through anti-union measures, spurring protests and the eventual recall vote.
