I would love to collect all Nolan's Batmobile.

It's called Tumbler! Damnit! >:(

Cool. Hush would fit perfectly in Nolan's films.

I've often wondered just how Batman's other rogues would fit into Nolan's films... cause that'd be cool. I've loved how he's done all the villains to date and would love to have seen more interpretations of other enemies.

Ra's al Ghul, Scarecrow, Joker, Two-Face, Catwoman, Bane for the films proper. (Wish I had Lionel's awesome GIF that showed all the villains... at work, don't have it bookmarked here).

If you include Gotham Knight, then also Killer Croc and Deadshot.

But it's interesting to think how Batman's other villains would fit in this universe.

Not the boat scenes?

Like I said in the other thread:
Rereading the thread, and I'm surprised there were so many haters for the boat scene. Yes, it seems cheesy in hindsight, but when I was first watching it I was on the edge of my seat. The high pitched music building up perfectly paralleled the increasing tension. This may have been the crux of the whole film's theme of whether the people of Gotham (and I suppose society in general) could collectively be pushed to completely abandon their morals and humanity, which would mean the Joker had won. All of that was riding on whether or not one of these two boats (mostly the citizens of course) would press the goddamn button.

Watching it again and knowing how it all plays out ruins the effect of the moment, compared to when I watched it the first time and had no idea how it was all gonna play out. Perhaps some of you went into the mindset that there was no way the citizens would blow up the other boat because that would end the film on a terribly dark note atypical of superhero movies. Two things: this type of mindset is terrible and is basically what ruined Toy Story 3 for me at the inferno scene, and I actually wasn't sure whether Nolan had the balls to have the citizens blow up the other ship after he killed Rachel like that. That was the first time I've seen the love interest of a protagonist literally explode. Maybe I don't watch enough movies.

TDK runs a little long, the Hong Kong stuff being the low point of the movie for me.

I love the Hong Kong section, the diving off the building and beating the fuck out of everyone. Similarly I love the part when Batman is taking out the SWAT and henchmen, but it's the actual scenes on the boats that are the poorest parts.

All of the non-joker scenes were filler for me.

Movie should've been called "The Clown Prince", amirite? -_-

New MessenjahMatt posters if anyone's interested:

The more I see fanwork like these, the more I get pissed of at WB's marketing. I've bought and owned BB and TDK posters but the only TDKR poster that interests me is being given to Midnight screening. STEP YOUR GAME UP, WB!

Everybody hates on the boat stuff, but I've always disliked the HK stuff the most. I can easily see them cutting that shit out. HK guy is an afterthought in this story, dies on top of the pile of burning money and most people forget about it.

I hated that line that basically says "We're still here too because they haven't blown us up either." I forget the exact quote but I actually cringed when he said that.

WE'RE STILL HERE, WHICH MEANS THEY HAVEN'T KILLED US YET

It was mostly an excuse to do something cool. The glide to the building was pretty amazing to watch.

That scene had great bookends - the glide in and the airlift out. But the middle bit with Batman punching a bunch of Chinese guys in a dimly lit room stinks.

So the embargo lifts on the 16th, right?

I'm really excited to see all the hyperbolic reviews rise.

I'm expecting a lot of hyperbole. I'm not reading a single review for that reason. Either a critic is going to fall in love with it and praise it to no end or kill it for one single flaw.

How about simply Rise or Batman Rises?

Also, don't front - if WB had used Caped Crusader or Shadow or whatever, people would have absolutely jizzed their pants.

Caped Crusader sounds like a different character. The Dark Knight sounds much regal and stoic.

Batman rises sounds stupid. You know this solo. Begins is an amazing film but the title just sucks.

I think the best way to name the series would've been:

The dark knight (batman begins)
Knightfall (tdk)
The dark knight rises (tdkr)

Seems like WB got it this time by naming the (potentially) superman trilogy with the first movie being called "man of steel".

I'm still in awe that people think WB forced Nolan to use The Dark Knight in the title, yet gave him final cut on the movie with no notes.
