Go to any game, triangle, then information, and there you should see the album name you can edit to what you want.
Goddamn that's awesome. And super clunky. Thanks!

next gen, it will happen. MS would be mad not to make basic online gaming free, it's too big a bullet point to give away to your competitor.
Not doing it would exceed Sony's level of arrogance at the start of this gen.
Yes, I just don't find it super clunky since the keyboard saves everything you typed so you don't have to spell out the entire folder every time.Well you have to type in a database field for every title right? It's not drag and drop or am I missing something?

I don't organize my library on the 360, how do thye do it?
Out of academic interest, and because nobody who claims this ever like to actually answer it, what is the problem with PSN compared to XBL outside of the oh-so-important party chat 'feature'?
It's cute that you think that. Sony will not be free next gen.
You sure about that are you?, I think that will be determined by the success of Playstaton Plus's current business model, I personally can't see Sony charging consumers to play online next gen tbh, I think they will just continue to add extra exclusive features to Playstation Plus, maybe even cross gamer chat next gen but always keep basic online play free.

You also used the fact Sony charged for online in Japan as evidence that the Vita would not have free online play.
Home systems and portables are different.
That didn't stop you from making a lot of posts suggesting that the Vita might not have free online play.
When you push the same agenda over a long period of time, people notice.
I read through several pages, and I am surprised at the amount of people who are defending Microsoft on this matter. You people need to consider that if we don't start complaining at this point, they will just keep adding ads. They will add until people won't tolerate any more, and it's already extreme -- and unless we complain/make noise, they will add more.
So you have to break a function of the system in order to disable the advertising ticker on the XMB? Poster I quited made it seem that all it was was a check box in the settings. I didn't know you had to take advantage of a bug in the OS. Sony doesn't want you to disable the ads on the XMB and if they did, it would be an option to turn it off.
That's for the What's New section that the system automatically boots to. I believe he's talking about the ticker in the upper right hand corner box. Correct me if I'm wrong.Nonsense, it's literally just a checkbox in the system settings menu.

Give it a shot. I haven't seen the ticker in years. It could be a different setting.
Maybe my Playstation is just a magical one, though.
I just did, well more specifically I turned it back on and then turned it off after restarting the system. All that adjusts is whether or not it boots to the what's new section under playstation network in the XMB.
Out of curiosity is your date and time information correct on your system?

Out of curiosity is your date and time information correct on your system? To my knowledge that being incorrect is the only thing that will prevent the news ticker from displaying.
Certain regions dont get the ticker.
Here's a idea that Microsoft should implement. Have a setting to toggle ads off/on for the user.
Why?
Just to placate a few moany gamers? Accept the future, you'll enjoy life a lot more if you don't focus so much on non issues.

Because some people don't like ads? Not a hard concept to grasp.
If I subscribe and pay for certain websites, they always remove the ads, because they are ugly, unwanted and obnoxious.
Why shouldn't XBL offer that feature? if you are right, and nobody fucking cares about ads, then nobody will bother to turn it off anyway. Everybody wins.
I pay a lot of money for cable tv yet im still bombarded with ads. Those arent ignorable like the ones on Xbox either. I pay for satellite radio.....ads there too. I pay for the internet, its full of ads.
Ads are everywhere, might as well get used to it.
Paying to have ads shoved in your face yet people still find a way to defend it. Disgusting.

Uh, I literally have pop ups from Steam when I start games
What delusional world are people living in that think the only place they see ads is on Xbox? You should be freaking out about search engines, web forums, news websites, YouTube, basically everything that people like to use FOR FREE

The services you're comparing here are vastly different, both in how they operate and in what your subscription dollars are going to pay for. It's been argued to death, but needless to say the comparison to a cable subscription is terribly out of place. Simply saying "get used to it" is basically just actively discouraging good consumer practices and encouraging corporate practices of continuing to screw a market over.
Well, most of the ads are to stuff you can get on the very system you're viewing them on.
Just turned my 360 on and what is being shown. Ah look, informing me there's an Arcade sale:

I'm not a fan of Metro's layout vs. the previous one, but the ads don't bother me at all. Hell, most the time I don't even pay attention to them. I have a purpose for turning my system on: play a certain game; watch a movie or TV show.
And the comedy award goes to...
Aww, you didn't win. There's always next year though. Keep your chin up, kid.
No, people are genuinely mad they're being advertised to. That's why the complaints are mainly about how they still have to pay for Gold.
Not true. I find PSN way more easier to use because I dont have to navigate through a sea of ads.

Ads are there for silver members, too. You're not paying for removal of ads, just online multiplayer and the ability to use some apps - that were tied into Gold because so many cried about Gold not offering more over Silver. I agree 100% online MP should be free. But MS is making a killing. Services/products are sold, the market votes with their wallets. Why should MS make online MP free?
Sea of ads? Goddamn, hyperbole. HYPERBOLE. rein that shit it.

Because alot of people are getting sick of this shit, and switching to PSN.
