I thought this was a new game or something, but then again, I don't really follow the Sonic games that much. I might buy it, if only because I'm sure a certain friend won't stop bugging me about it.

Anyway, I laughed for a good minute watching that video. I've never seen so many people so enthusiastic for something so....well.

Here are the reasons that some of us may feel that Sonic Adventure 2 was shit:

-The least shit parts of the game advocate BOOST BOOST BOOST mechanics, devolving the franchise from multi-tier platformer to a superlinear homing-attack heavy "hold up and press boost" tour-de-force of mind-numbing boredom.

Yeah, and that's why I kind of prefer SA1's stages if anything. They actually give the level design and its layouts some characteristics to the setting: Ice Cap had you traversing up a chasm, Lost World has these long snake like corridors and pitch black rooms and Sky Deck factored in altitude and being below/above the ship.

Sonic Adventure 2 didn't do a bad job either but as someone here mentioned, it felt like Speed Highway with these cinematic stunts in-between.

Sonic Adventure 2 was mediocre, but I had MUCH more fun with it than I did with the terribly tedious Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Colors, and besides not including the original 4 genesis games I cannot think of a sonic game that is even remotely decent.

I know that this terrible game will sell. As a business decision, releasing it does make sense.

Part of me knows though, that this team could be doing something that would actually benefit gaming, like releasing Panzer Dragoon Saga, or a Saturn Shining Wisdom/Ark/Force quintet, or Shenmue Collection, or a Sega Lunacy pack compiling of Baku Baku, Keio Flying Squadron, Saturn Bomberman and Fighters Megamix, or even a Sega Forgotten Legends collection compiling of Story of Thor/Legend of Thor/Exhumed/Landstalker/Dark Savior/Soleil. So many missed opportunities. That's a sad thought.

Still, I guess they need to go where the money is.

Pumpkin Hill was awesome because it gave you a ton of space to explore (and had "awesome" music). Most of the other stages were too small (and the bad camera didn't help things) or were annoying to navigate.

It didn't age horribly, it was godawful from the jump.

Man, they cheered at the friggin Sega Heritage Logo. If it was an HD port of Sonic 1-3 made by the same guy that ported Sonic CD I could understand, but SA2 is awful... hell I probably wouldn't even cheer that. I'm a classic Sonic fan, but I've played those games a million times already.

I did like that the trailer made fun of Sega's inability to keep a secret. Of course the secrets they DO keep are the games nobody wants to find out about, like this one

I'm a huge sonic fan, and to me, SA2 is pretty good. But for people to not understand why fans would go crazy at a SONIC FAN EVENT, is kinda weird.
