Sonic Adventure 2 officially announced, leaking onto consoles this fall

"How can so many people go completely apeshit over such a bad game?"

Someone please answer this.

"Sonic fans...go crazy over a trailer with no gameplay of a 10 year old rerelease of game that has aged horribly."

It didn't age horribly, it was godawful from the jump.

It't not that hard to figure out. Those people are Sonic fans and like everything Sonic. Why wouldn't they be excited?

The kiss never really bothered me. I just didn't really care about it as it wasn't really a big deal, everything else about the plot was absolutely terrible. I suppose the kiss reminded me of that old Disney movie Beauty and Beast in a very strange sense.

What I'm saying is, there are much worse parts in the story than that in my opinion. The laughing part reminded me of Tidus. Although like others, I'm not going to get into another Sonic 2006 plot discussion as it's bad at every aspect of it. Certainly the worst in a Sonic game, and nothing else compares.

However, I don't really play Sonic games for the plot so if they did remake 2006, I wouldn't be worried about the storyline.

Sarcasm meter didn't go off, but great video.

Some of the Sonic stages were rather cool, and it was 60fps. But can't take away the fact that about 2 thirds of SA2 was fucking trash.

The Sonic/Shadow gameplay is good, way better than SA1.

Agreed entirely. And the worst parts are still not as bad as Big the Cat's fishing segments. SA2 is an improvement over the original game in every way.

Still, it's nothing to go apeshit over.

At first I thought Sonic fans were going that crazy over a teaser for a game that's already been out on multiple consoles, but then I realized that if Nintendo pulled the same reveal on Yoshi's Island for VC, people would go equally apeshit.

Yoshi's Island is widely recognized as one of the best games ever made. SA2 was already a bad game when it came out, and has aged terribly.

SA2 was indeed being received well. I think Sonic still had a lot of credit back then, that played a reasonable part in its ratings.

SA2 did look amazing when booted up but I started to hate the Tails and Knuckles levels real fast and was surprised that it wasn't limited to just one or 2 levels a piece. Ultimately ended up hating more than half the experience.

SA2 was such a terrible game. Why would these people cheer for a remake?

It's not even a remake, it's just an upressed port of SA2. As for why people are cheering, quite a lot of current Sonic fans may not even have been born when the Sonic franchise was in its prime in the 90s, but grew up with SA2 as their first Sonic game.

Funnily enough. I just started playing SA2 on Dreamcast again. I still like the Sonic/Shadow stages. The rest can die in a fire.

The most remember thing from SA2 was the Internet browser boards that people put up there DLC and time trials which was what probably created the fanbase.

Sonic wouldn't exist right now if it weren't for the people you could hear in that video.

They should've walled up that room and turned it into a mental institution at that second.

I could care less about Chao Karate. Chao racing is so much more interesting anyway. Mashing one button to win in the upper leagues of a sport isn't fun.

Oh well. They needed more of an excuse to force players to do the Chao World stuff and get those emblems.
