The opening 15 minutes of Once Upon a Time in the West may be the best damn thing in Italian cinema(8 1/2 included).

Exactly. It's the only thing with little dialogue and no music that I could sit and watch over and over again.

Though one thing I fight in my mind about is whether the duel between Harmonica and Frank is better than the duel between Angel Eyes, Blondie, and Tuco. Both are basically 2 minutes of soaring, beautiful Morricone music, then 10 seconds of gunfire, but both are masterfully done.

Once Upon a Time in the West still wins. It is the flashback in the middle of the staredown that seals the deal for me.

"Keep your lovin' brother happy."

The opening was originally gonna have the 3 main characters of TGTBATU as the outlaws but some bullshit scheduling and stuff with Eastwood nixed that idea.

But yeah OUATITW > Dollars trilogy (which is also great). But OUATITW is in my top 10 of all time.

Just a few bane avatars for people requesting. Take some load of artist hands. Apologies if I missed some, just skimmed through and created a few before I have to go out. Will do the rest later, or artist can create them ;)
Awesome work. Could I get one?

Need to re-watch it again. Never really enjoyed it as much as other people seem to.

Holy shit!

Someone ask for more hype?

This writer will not divulge any more details to avoid potential spoilers but believe me, this movie, the finale of visionary filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s groundbreaking trilogy, is going to be one of the most-talked about movies of the year. I was invited to the IMAX screening of the movie inside the Universal Studios last week and the jubilant applause the movie received even before the end credits could start rolling was an incredible proof at how movies as excellent as this could really move its audience.

The Warner Bros. release will open in the Philippines on July 19 and I just can’t wait for everyone to watch it. The movie lived up to its pre-release buzz — and more! But again, I’m not at a liberty to disclose what’s “more.”

You sir, are a legend!

Thank you!

OH FUCK OH FUCK OH FUCK. The terrible thing is that I'm probably gonna have to wait until the week after it comes out. :( There'll be no unmarked spoilers here, right?
There'll probably be a separate spoiler thread as with most major releases, but you're nuts if you're actually gonna keep coming to this thread for a full week after it releases and expect not to get spoiled in some way.

I think there still is a chance that the franchise will continue on the same wave length, unless they truly learned their lesson from Superman Returns. Personally, I like to see new director's takes on the character. The Batman franchise is unlike, let's use Spiderman for the comparison. There are numerous perspectives on the character, where for the most part, Peter Parker remains relatively the same and don't believe he can be accurately depicted on film.

Either way, I'm a comic book film whore. I'll give them all a shot regardless of the mass opinion.
