Shitty black and white tumblr gif aside, this is always one of my favorite moments in TDK. The Joker always seems to have a plan, even when the chips are down. Everybody turns on each other at the bank, all according to plan. He gets arrested, ha-ha I have Harvey/Rachel locked up, and now I'm gonna escape because there's a bomb in this dude. But he bet it all on this big gamble with the boats, and when it doesn't go as planned, the look on his face is absolutely priceless. It's the one time in the movie where the Joker doesn't win. He has no idea how to react to not getting his way besides shock, confusion, and mild sadness.

Haven't seen TDKR yet. Seeing it tomorrow night.

There's a press screening today but the two editors took the tickets, which I actually don't mind at all because I think I'd rather see it for the first time at midnight with my friend and a psyched audience.

He has the opposite of a "crazed breakdown" that most villains have whne everything goes wrong. Instead of his over the top bombtasic nature everywhere else in the film, he's just silent and dumbfounded for the first time ever. It's a neat flip.
