Where's the "in a cat's eyes all things belong to cats" picture? this thread will never be complete without it. ever.

Batman better learn to mind his goddamn surroundings in this film.

Man, I wish I was able to be as hyped as some of you are. Last time I was like that was when Halo 2 was coming out. I'm still pretty excited to see this. Hope it lives up to the hype for everyone.
Sorry for you.
Im hyped to an insane level. biggest movie of my life levels*.

Sounds silly but when I actually think about it I can't think of any movie/series getting me more hyped besides Indiana Jones and it could never be as good as the original 3.

Watching any TDKR video on youtube is a minefield. Have to be very careful not to scroll down to the comments section.

Just wanted to pop in and say that my vacation has made avoiding this thread easier and avoiding reviews much easier.

But I miss you all. :( Friday will be so nice when I can be safe from spoilers. I'll see you all then. :)

Oh my God, I am loving all the butthurt in the comments on the negative reviews on Rottentomatoes. This is going to provide quality entertainment for the rest of the week

I think everybody knows that this will be Nolan's LW3.

Batman is finally retiring, until Gordon gives him the whole 'You're not just retiring you, you're retiring us, man!' speech. Selina Kyle is Lorna Cole, while JGL is going to play the rookie cop fated to die by the cop-killing bullets on his birthday.

I for one can't wait for the doggy biscuit bonding scene.

Matt Modine dies in a heated flare up of gang violence and racial tensions?!

That is exactly ripped from the Prestige, with all the reviews it seems also this theme of the 3 acts is still there.

"The Pledge". The magician shows you something ordinary.... But of course... it probably isn't. that is BB
The second act is called "The Turn". The magician takes the ordinary something and makes it do something extraordinary, which is of course the TDK

But you wouldn't clap yet. Because making something disappear isn't enough; you have to bring it back. That's why every magic trick has a third act, the hardest part, the part we call "The Prestige". which is the final act the TDKR and now every one should clap

Not sure if this has been posted yet. Basically Eric Snider got banned from having his reviews represented on rottentomatoes for posting a negative review without seeing the movie yet in order to elicit reactions and also to get hits to his site by disguising the review link to film.com whereas it went to his site. Also, apparently he's been fired before for ethics violations so yeah.

What have I started?

Haha. Holy fucking shit, just saw your great return post. Amazing.

Some sage advice in that post:

we're trying to have fun here, so don't be a dick.

should be Gaf's official slogan.

I'll watch Batman Forever and Batman & Robin every day next week.
TDKR will either be the greatest thing I'll have ever seen in my life.
Or I'll Good Job Bob'it.

They actually had to disable comments because people couldn't handle the fact that not everybody in the world likes the movie. Wow.

Is it me, or does it sometimes seem like some critics give a good movie a bad review if only to appear away from the crowd? When I read there reviews, they just come off nitpicky.

If you're highly spoiler averse, don't highlight the below. It's not part of the plot of the movie (well, maybe sorta), but it's something I noticed from the TDKR premiere photos.

So, there's a photo of Cillian Murphy at the TDKR premiere... the hell is up with his face? He looks... odd. This does not necessarily mean he's in the movie, and he could have been simply been invited to the premiere... or maybe he's in the movie! Dun dun dun. I'd like that, one of the common elements that appear throughout the movies. Full circle, folks. Full circle.

I'm actually fearing the opposite, that like Uncharted 3, the previous entry was such a media darling that most critics will give it a good review if it's a bit of a disappointment.

It's also possible that some people just don't like the movie.

I mean, I'm sure there are some critics who are contrarians for the sake of it, but I'd like to think that most professional critics are above that sort of thing.
