Friend just saw it: "incredible moments" but "disappointing, messy, cold, cheesy" and "terrible ending."

He's not much of a Nolan fan though. An uberfan that's a friend is seeing it later tonight, will provide more impressions. Then I'm checking it out tomorrow.

Most reviews seem to be praising the ending.

I loved the ending

One thing I'll say now is that the reviews saying 'somewhere in this 160 minute movie there's a fantastic 90 minute one'... bollocks. I could think of 5 minutes you could cut at a push, but by and large there's nothing that feels extraneous to the rest of the film. I loved the Hong Kong sequence in TDK but it could have been shortened by 15 minutes by keeping Lau in Gotham, things like that. But it uses up the running time very well. There's really not much flab at all.

I'll believes it when I sees it. It's so rare to see a movie this long that doesn't suffer from fluffiness.

Saw these today at my local theatre. I asked the manager what they plan to do with them after the film and he said, "Toss them in the bin". I then asked if I could possibly take them off his hands and he agreed. Hopefully I'll have these in a few weeks. They are really huge so I may sell them. PM me to register your interest

Edit: Okay, I didn't expect that many replies so quickly! lol. I'm not going to reply back right now, but I've noted your queries and I'll get back to you if there is anything.

Oh yeah, well its all subjective I suppose. But it certainly flows better than TDK. It really doesn't feel like 3 hours long, it flies by (lol like the bat see what I did there lol)

That's crazy that none of their employees would take them

TDK flew by the first time too. It tends to be on a repeat viewing (for me anyways) where any clunkiness/bloatedness sets in.

I remember coming out of the TDK screening loving it but still thinking there's a bit or two that could have been cut.

I'll see how it holds up I suppose, the test of any movie, which is why I'm a little reluctant to go into ZOMG mode.

I get the feeling a lot of critics have only seen TDK once though.

Speaking of bats. Has anyone ever heard of these?:
