The Fountain :>

That is one of my favs as well.

One of my favorite movies of all time but I completely understand why it gets 50%. It's beautiful, it's pretentious, it's clever, it's dumb, it's nuanced and it's subtle. If you like it, it's glorious, and if you hate it, it's self indulgent and manipulative. I loved it. I think in some ways it's the perfect movie for me. But I totally get why people dislike it.

You know what's even more uncool? Trashing a reviewer who gave a negative review without even seeing the movie. You know why that happens? Because you're so convinced the movie is going to be the best movie ever that you won't even care how it ends up : you'll just LOVE it.

Question. Did you go into the Avengers thread to complain about the same thing? Because something similar happened with negative reviews then. Or is your trolling limited to Nolan?

And nice to see you overreact when most ppl here are joking about Ebert. Hell I defended him.

So is it fair to assume this will be one of the last major releases for the foreseeable future to not be in 3D until the fad returns to hibernation again?

lol. unless this is 10 times worse than most 3rd movies in a trilogy I know I will love it already, I'm a fan of Nolan, you obviously aren't. He's not just gonna stop being a good director... But I'm a guy that easily pleased. I don't go looking for other's options on film or most anything.

Finally caught up with this thread after a long day. It was emotionally outstanding, but the plot was a complete disaster, you know?

It's best to ignore him actually. Don't know why I even replied. His only act is to pop into Nolan movie threads to tell ppl how superior his tastes are and how everyone is wrong for liking the movie.

People aren't allowed to like things I don't like, man, it's totally rational behavior becoming of a person who spends his nights scrambling upon forums such as myself.

Anybody that is interested in possible ending spoilers I posted some in the spoiler thread. I don't know if they're 100% real but just an FYI. Obviously not gonna post them in here.

Watching Batman Begins makes you realize what a shit actress Katie Holmes is. The part where Batman reveals himself to Rachel Dawes by repeating that "It's not who I am underneath" line on the rooftop, Katie Holmes expresses as much shock as finding out that sky is blue.

If we were interested, we would be over there. But thanks. I like the extra anxiety when I click on thread titles.

Yep.

Maggie is a better actress.

I know it's divisive; I just think it's unfortunate that it's a movie some people may never even bother to see if they tend to rely heavily on what the critical consensus is.

I call it the Avengers effect.

in Australia, I can't find it anywhere. When I try to order it in at the retailer I work for it's not in print, and it isn't on iTunes. I love Aronovsky's work, I need to watch this god damn movie.

Tree of Life played like a college art film. Utter shit.

I wouldn't call it "shit" but I did not like it at all. I did give it a chance and sat through the whole thing, it was just pretentious from every conceivable angle IMO. Some scenes were so heavy handed and on the nose with its "symbolism" that it made me giggle from time to time.

He also gave 3 stars to The Godfather Part II

...and gave 3 1/2 stars to Star Wars Episode III

...man Ebert's all over the place. I like him a lot, but there's plenty of times when I strongly disagree with him or feel he's way off the mark.

I really don't think his scores are intended to be compared to one another. Maybe within the same franchise at best.
