Would it help you guys if I told you the guy was spouting complete bullshit?

Seriously, don't give it any attention. The more you get annoyed at it, the more likely he will keep doing it. Just alert mods, let him get banned and move on.

c'mon guys no spoiler ruins a movie, you have seen movie where you read the book before and still enjoyed it and batman is no masterpiece in story telling. everybody knows what happens in the end.

There's the journey and then there's the destination. I'd like to enjoy them both untainted, thanks very much.

Like what that other guy said a few posts up, you're going to keep thinking about it while watching the movie.

For example, during an action sequence there's going to be no suspense or whatever because you know there's something else still coming up.

My friend wants to see it next week, but I don't think I'll be able to wait that long.

I'll be seeing it a few times anyway.

i wanted to write a sentence more originally: no spoiler ruins a good movie.

of course it's preferable but it won't ruin the movie for you especially if it's just a detail, you won't know why and when it happens.

If it's the climax of a movie that's being spoiled, then you'll see it coming as the plot builds up.

We should ban Junior Members from movies OT, I avoided his posts after reading two words from the first, I was fast.

Was pretty much the same. I'd seen like a word or two and as soon as I realised it was a spoiler, I scrolled back up to the top of the thread and closed the tab.

Banning Juniors as a whole from movie OTs is a bit extreme, though. We don't want to be spoiled neither, innit.

lol forreal. His master plan is being executed. He really is the Joker of Bat Gaf

edit: I shouldn't indulge him as he reads this though. So I have to add he's also a useless shitty c...cock

if anything y'all should be glad he potentially increased your enjoyment of the film

Spoiler Alert: Stories Are Not Spoiled by 'Spoilers'

By Inga Kiderra said:
Many of us go to extraordinary lengths to avoid learning the endings of stories we have yet to read or see – plugging our ears, for example, and loudly repeating “la-la-la-la,” when discussion threatens to reveal the outcome. Of book and movie critics, we demand they not give away any plot twists or, at least, oblige with a clearly labeled “spoiler alert.” We get angry with friends who slip up and spill a fictional secret.

But we’re wrong and wasting our time, suggests a new experimental study from the University of California, San Diego. People who flip to the last page of a book before starting it have the better intuition. Spoilers don’t spoil stories. Contrary to popular wisdom, they actually seem to enhance enjoyment.

Even ironic-twist and mystery stories – which you’d be forgiven for assuming absolutely depend on suspense or surprise for success – aren’t spoiled by spoilers, according to a study by Nicholas Christenfeld and Jonathan Leavitt of UC San Diego’s psychology department, to be published in a forthcoming issue of the journal Psychological Science.

Christenfeld and Leavitt ran three experiments with a total of 12 short stories. Three types of stories were studied: ironic-twist, mystery and literary. Each story – classics by the likes of John Updike, Roald Dahl, Anton Chekhov, Agatha Christie and Raymond Carver – was presented as-is (without a spoiler), with a prefatory spoiler paragraph or with that same paragraph incorporated into the story as though it were a part of it. Each version of each story was read by at least 30 subjects. Data from subjects who had read the stories previously were excluded.

Subjects significantly preferred the spoiled versions of ironic-twist stories, where, for example, it was revealed before reading that a condemned man’s daring escape is all a fantasy before the noose snaps tight around his neck.

The same held true for mysteries. Knowing ahead of time that Poirot will discover that the apparent target of attempted murder is, in fact, the perpetrator not only didn’t hurt enjoyment of the story but actually improved it.

Subjects liked the literary, evocative stories least overall, but still preferred the spoiled versions over the unspoiled ones.

Why? The answers go beyond the scope of the study, but one possibility is perhaps the simplest one: that plot is overrated.

I missed the spoilers, glad to see they're all gone though. If I hadn't seen it I would have missed it all haha.

Will someone PM me what the guy 'spoiled'? Won't confirm nor deny them, just interested to see what he had.

Like I said before, the internet's never a safe place. But if we're gonna reduce risks, then perhaps mods should consider the timing during which new members are accepted.

Who is still a tdkr virgin?

I've somehow avoided all 3 major junior suicides involving TDKR spoilers. 2 of those were avoided (including this one) because I was looking at porn. Thank you based porn.

If ya'll don't want to get spoiled, stay off the message boards and just wank it till the movie opens.

After this the only one I'm equally (actually more) hyped for is The Hobbit. I haven't read the book since I was a kid so I forgot some major plot points.

There needs to be a non-book spoiler thread for that or just put it in black bars or something.

After that Iron Man 3 and Pacific Rim. Don't really give a shit about the plot there though.

Might as well start doing background checks while your at it. Life must be really sad for people who get thrills from spoiling a movie on the Internet.

Leonsito pls.

Yeah, sorry guys :*

There is a spanish forum, when there are special tags for thread titles, each of them gives the thread special conditions, like, only users registered for 1 month, or only users with +500 posts, that would be better.

Batman porn? Lol

Welp, looks like it is time to go back to reading just the familiar faces.

Thank the gods I only can read this forum at the beginning and end of the day because of work.

To those about to watch: There's no need to fear. Go ahead, set your expectations sky high. The only thing that will change is how much you are blown away.

I just can't fathom how anyone who liked BB and TDK could be disappointed by this film.

Wow, I'm glad I was able to avoid another set of spoilers. Damn, this is getting scary, I think it might be best to stay away from anything batman related on the internet including this thread.

Fixed it for you.

It was also in the Steam thread, and apperantly the Football thread.

Yeah.

I was going to watch some porn then decided to keep reading the thread, worst decision.

I think other threads can start to be spoiled, someone said the Football thread was compromised too.

Maybe it's time to use work hours to... work.

I've installed Simple Profanity Filter in Chrome, and typed in a list of all the Batman universe characters nad places I could think of. Just to be sure. At the worst all I'll see is ***** killed **** and ***** went to ******...

But you shouldn't have to, you should be able to have a discussion about an upcoming movie without being spoiled out the ass. I know it's hard with big movies.
