To those about to watch: There's no need to fear. Go ahead, set your expectations sky high. The only thing that will change is how much you are blown away.

I just can't fathom how anyone who liked BB and TDK could be disappointed by this film.

This. It's a fantastic ending to the trilogy. Don't worry about being spoiled, far more happens than any silly three line summary can do.

BurnOut, get in this spoiler thread - http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=482912&highlight= and read my shit!

Wow, I'm glad I was able to avoid another set of spoilers. Damn, this is getting scary, I think it might be best to stay away from anything batman related on the internet including this thread.

That's what I was trying to do but some douchebag put the spoilers in a gaming thread.

Everyone avoid the "70% of DCUO users are Playstation 3 players" thread.

Fixed it for you.

It was also in the Steam thread, and apperantly the Football thread.

Yeah.
Aw shit, I would've been spoiled anyway then. If I wasn't reading this thread, then I would've been in the football thread.

No escape :(

It's a win-win situation really. If the spoilers are fake - you are still going be surprised by what you just experienced on the screen, if the spoilers are real - he has technically enhanced your enjoyment of the piece!
he was a true internet hero struck down before his prime *salutes*

And of course the spoilers weren't true right? ...... Right?

Right?

Won't confirm or deny unless you specifically want to know, but you can PM me for that. Confirming it means you all go in expecting that to happen, denying it means you all go in knowing that doesn't happen. So I'm not telling.

But Fox is Batgirl

LOL

Glad I am safe. I can't believe this is happening. Time to start legislation in Congress allowing death penalty for internet spoilers.

I knew it!

Avoided the spoilers thankfully.

I wonder though what the reaction would be in the future Hobbit thread if someone did the same, considering the story's 75 years old and that most of the reading world have probably read it by now.

So who's seeing it today? When can I expect impressions from other people?

BurnOut and SilentProtagonist, anywhere you're going to write up full spoiler impressions?

Well about to leave for the cinema. I feel like absolute shit from lack of sleep and am now super pissed off and that fucking little country singer that felt he had to ruin the movie for people right as its come out.

Not a great frame of mind to go into seeing this. :(

Have fun.

Hope your mind get's blown many times.

Sculli, forget them. It's a two and three-quarters hour film where someone may or may not have spoiled one or two things. I'm telling you now, don't worry about what the spoilers were. Enjoy it. Let us know how you felt!

I will do a longer write up once I've seen it a few more times and had a bit more time to digest it (I work at a movie theater, so I will at least see parts of it everytime I go to work for the next couple of months). But overall impression is that it's a damn good movie that get's a little stuffed up in the middle/3rd act, but ultimately redeems itself. It's one of the most stressful movies I've watched in awhile. Remember how nerve raking the Harvey Dent hostage scene at the end of TDK was? Well there are like 5 moments in this movie where I was on the edge of my seat. Can't get more specific without spoiling anything.

Back to my comment before the mayhem, were you as bothered as I was by the switching from IMAX scenes to regular in the same sequences?

I saw it on a tiny little screen at a private screening, so I noticed no transition from IMAX to regular, but it happened a bunch of times in TDK so I know what you're on about.

It's nearly midnight here so I might do a longer writeup later on.

But generally, I thought it was incredible. Having rewatched BB and TDK prior, I started to see how adept Nolan is at juggling between scenes to ratchet up the tension. It happens in BB when Batman is in the narrows, it happens in TDK with the boat/building/Dent, and in Inception too with basically everything. TDK displays his mastery of the style. Watching it all come together, watching the "Hell yeah!" moments and the "Holy shit!" moments, and feeling the unrelenting tension that I felt in TDK, was all magnificent.

So.... I take it someone post a huge damn spoiler while I was sleeping?

3 spoilers, all of them endgame big. But people who've seen the movie deny them, in the sense that they won't explicitly say anything the other way because that would be a spoiler too.

Does that make sense?
