Sunhi, you're a freaking genius. And :lol at some of the meltdowns in this thread, esp at the bad reviews and at Sculli's impression. It's not the end of the world if the movie gets an 86% on rottentomatoes or if some critics don't like it. Begins got an 85% and it's still amazing. Just calm down people. Curb your hype. The bat-shit insane following that Nolan gets here is scary sometimes.

The night is darkest just before the dawn.

I think some people went into this with a way overly inflated view of what this series is, its never had great dialogue and also had da touch of the comic book silliness to it. People are doing themselves and the film a disservice going in assuming its something its not.

I kinda came away feeling this after finishing Begins last night. A lot of the things that people ride on TDK for (cheesy dialogue/one-liners, not-funny jokey bits, heavy-handed themes) are just as evident in BB.

The heavy-handedness is what brings BB below TDK for me, since it seems worse there, in my opinion.

We get it, "fear".

Agreed. It's a Nolan (and especially Nolan Batman) staple.

You either dig the thematic/expository/unrealistic (take your pick) dialogue or not.

Nothing has changed.

Just got home from the midnight screening, such tired. I thought it was great, but it didn't have the same impact on me as TDK and BB. It felt a bit too long and some of the pacing was... odd.

TDK>>BB>>>>>TDKR

Now sleeep

It seems like some people are just too weak for midnight screenings :P

Pretty much, now BB and TDK are very good films, but they are often quite silly, full of corny moments and quite often bad dialogue. Now if you accept this and enjoy the ride then you can accept the silly and corny as just part of the films charms and forgive the corny dialogue because of the overall achievement. People seem to take this "grounded in reality" batman a bit too far, BB and TDK only grounds him and the plot to a point, at the end of the day both batman, the villains and the story are still charicatures often doing things outside the realm of possibility.

Anyway thats my 2 cents on the matter and why i think alot of people are reacting harsher to tdkr than people expect, but i could be wrong, i havent seen it.

It seems nobody can escape the 3rd film in trilogy problem.

Toy Story 3.

I'm going to try my hardest to Bale out from lurking this thread now. My expectations are in check, and I would like to go into Saturday without reading too many detailed impressions. Good luck BAT-GAF.

I think im the only one alive who disliked Toy story 3 :[

I wonder if some of these impressions might be a little different if people weren't literally losing sleep over the film.

Maybe Sculli was just a bit too cranky. I WANT SCULLI TO GO THROUGH A REWATCH AFTER HAVING SEX WITH SOFIA VERGARA. That should put him in a good enough mood to watch the film.

I know Scully and Solo are like the movie Jesus and his cousin to you guys but I would recommend going in with an open mind. You are just ruining the experience for yourself getting all riled up over this.

Fuckin seriously, sculli says his oppinion on the film and batgaf goes mad.

Yeah, seriously. Overall, the film is getting great reviews, so I don't know what everyone is getting worked up over.

Bruce Wayne's little monologue to Alfred in the plane gets on my nerves in Begins lol

I actually like that one, but any extended dialogue with Rachel or Falcone ended up grating on me. Also, while Neeson kills the fuck out of his lines, the lines themselves are pretty...not good. "Gentlemen, let's spread the word! And the word is...PANIC"

They are nothing but self-proclaimed GAF critics with a holier-than-thou attitude.

The Rachel monologue while they are driving down to the docks (where it turns from day to night instantly) up to Falcone's "fear" speech is the worst stretch of BB dialogue by far.
