I just watched Batman Begins again, and for my money, however TDKR pans out, that single film validates the entire trilogy's existence.

Unfortunately, I think there'll be "what if" articles no matter how big TDKR is. If it's less than Avengers, could it have beaten Avengers with 3D? More than Avengers, could it have gotten $250m with 3D? So on and so forth.

Just rewatched Begins for the first time in a few years. Was under the impression I liked that better than TDK. Changed today. Still a great first half, besides the rushed dialogue to get things moving. Forgot how little weight a lot of it carried seeming so hurried. Line, cut. Line, cut. Still great, though. A couple references in there immediately made me think of what I've seen in the TDKR trailers. Lines specifically from Neeson.
