That's not how I saw it at all. I could've sworn that the only significance of the bat in the house was to confront his fear. It wasn't until after he gets surrounded by bats in the batcave that he has his catharsis of becoming Batman.

Begins has gotten noticeably better after we're done with all this ra's prologue stuff and we're back to Bruce building up his plan and the inner workings of Gotham. Less of Liam Neeson explaining everything with Nolan's way-too-literal dialog, more fun characters like Cillian Murphy's Dr. Crane or the easy charm of Alfred or Lucius Fox.

And I love watching Bruce kinda bungled his escape after the "now we're two" scene.

Begins for me is the least enjoyable, despite Liam Nesson being in it. It's suffers from establishitis, we must establish all the reasons for by someone does stuff, despite us knowing already. That's one reason I love Punisher War Zone and the Dolph Punisher, no Dicking around with what we already know.
