:lol I saw artist's post a few pages back. Boy is crazy.

If I had to assign a number it would be a 7/10, where TDK would be a 9 and BB a 9.5.
Really? Batman Begins is a rather boring movie that could used some editing, if I had seen BB before TDK, I might have been hesitant to see TDK, heck it was my wife who made the big push for TDK, even with not seeing BB. I means it competent and not like Avatar, but suffers from to much establishitis.

Also 7. There is one part of the film that I can't seem to find in the OST that was my clear favourite.

Might have to check for the bonus tracks if you can't find it.

Really annoyed by that. Opted with the CD, but I'm pretty sure there's a track on the Digital version I really want. Hoping they release em' eventually for free like they did with Inception.

also, the amount of TV actors playing small parts in this movie is hilarious

some The Wire favourites show up :p

Rewatching BB and a few questions as I go along

1. Why would his dad take him to a bat(?) themed opera? Did he do it on purpose so that Bruce could face his fears?

2. Why is Watanabe speaking Japanese when he can clearly understand English? For dramatic effect?

he's holding his cards close to his chest

Saw this 12 hours ago, didn't wanna post impressions, PLEASE for the love of GOD, LEAVE THE INTERNET UNTIL YOU SEE THIS MOVIE. DO NOT LET IT GET SPOILED FOR YOU.

Just saw it. Absolutely amazing final act. I had some issues, which I won't detail here. I could see this going down as the best in the series handily. If only I walked out of a cinema feeling like that more often.

Saw a midnight screening here in Australia last night, very, very good movie, can't see how anyone could be disappointed. Definitely follow bluebirds advice though, make every possible effort for nothing to be spoiled!

1. I've always taken it as it was a small part of a bigger play, and that one scene was enough to freak out Bruce.

2. Theatricality and deception are powerful weapons.
I actually don't know lol

I was talking about your 'self-proclaimed movie gods' post.

TDKR is easily better than The Avengers, so there's no worries there.
1. I never said gods, thats just shira carrying my joke forward :D
2. I know you liked TDKR. Its just your taste is really weird, just reinforcing that.

1. I was thinking that his dad didn't know it bothered him, and what bothered him was he fell down a well. Bruce may not have mentioned to his dad about the bats.

2. Secrecy, I suppose. Since Henri Ducard is Ra's, it's all an act to hide that with Watanabe speaking in a different language.

BOM predicts a $214.7M OW/BO.com $198M. Reports are that midnight showings are selling out like crazy and it is approaching DH2 levels. It will most certainly sell more tickets than The Avengers OW.

Hmm. I don't know. I need more time to digest the film before deciding, but at this moment I don't believe any Marvel film is better than TDKR.

you should watch TDKR again, this time in a bigger IMAX screen. David Poland and the IGN reviewer said they would have rated it higher after they saw it again

I think we're on the same wavelength. I'm not going to go nuts about a 7/10, the only thing I worry about is having a bastard child in the series, which apparently isn't the case here.

We need more bane pics

So, Sculli, would you then say that TDKR is one of the best comic book movies that exists? Even if it has flaws and that it doesn't not live up to its predecessors?

I think my question answered that for the most part. Besides this series, few independent comic films, there really isn't much else out there.

Just saw TDK again. Yeah...I think this is just a much much better film than Batman Begins. While Begins had that great training scene and also the one right after it where Ra's talks about his wife, it has nowhere near the level of suspense that TDK had (I'm talking about the scene when Joker is offing the commissioner and the judge and going after Dent, that whole sequence combined with the music is just awesome entertainment. Or the interrogation scene leading up to the botched rescue)

TDK just feels like the more impressive movie to me, and really The Joker makes a huge difference in this series. People were disappointed that there was less Batman in it, but he's boring compared to The Joker anyways. At least in Nolan's series I'd say. And Harvey Dent's arc, while rushed, is still pretty good closure.

And dat ending. People are raving about the last 5 minutes of Rises but I have a hard time believing it can top this one's. Feels like a legitimate series ending. (and please don't contradict this statement, I'll wait until I've seen it rather than hear impressions of the new one)

Only thing I can really give Begins over this now is it's soundtrack.

The answer to your question is "Yes", absolutely. It's also a better film than Batman Begins and is perhaps equal to or better than The Dark Knight, save for the latter's Joker who, let's face it, is an all-time classic movie villain who's impossible to top.

So for sure there will be no spoilers here after the movie comes out right? I can't see the film until next week but I can't stay out of BatGAF. :(
