1. I was thinking that his dad didn't know it bothered him, and what bothered him was he fell down a well. Bruce may not have mentioned to his dad about the bats.

2. Secrecy, I suppose. Since Henri Ducard is Ra's, it's all an act to hide that with Watanabe speaking in a different language.

See my point about the language thing though, is that Watanabe listens to Bruce talk in English, then responds to Ducard in Japanese. Just seems unnecessary haha, but really, it's not a complaint. Just wanted to point it out.

And I know the whole robbery murder is part of the character, but goddamn that scene was just unrealistic to me. Ah well.

Seriously. I just want another solid installment. That's it. I want a satisfying end.

Well rest easy - the movie is rock solid, satisfying, and boasts a terrific sense of closure.

One of the best trilogy-cappers ever. Few 3rd films in any series are as good as this.

I love this drunken-dick-Bruce scene. I'll be honest: Bale is pretty damn boring for the large majority of Batman Begins. He doesn't have a lot to do besides look mildly annoyed most of the time, or ALFRED HREALMPME Batman voice, but he's on point here.

And Ra's actually starting up the depression that eventually killed Bruce's parents is kinda cool in that OMG FULL CIRCLE POETRY way, but at the same time...if Ra's is the one who started the shitty Gotham phase, then he's got nobody to be mad at but himself for making it a mess.

btw...

Michael Phillips just emailed me on the 2.5 review which was labelled as rotten on RT

"When its two-and-a-half star review (out of four), by our definition it's halfway between "fair" and "good" So yeah, I'd probably have gone "fresh."

Haha, the second slap from Rachel in front of Falconi's place was perfect and hilarious.

edit: falconi is pretty mean to Bruce, he just wanted to talk.

After watching Batman Begins yesterday and TDK today I like Katie Holmes better. What's the common thoughts on this?
Katie is a worse actress, but better looking. She was also first, so some people like first better. Maggie is better at acting, but not as good looking, and has the stigma of being the replacement.

Facts: Katie Holmes would have made the Rachel dying scene 100000 times worse because of her staleness.

Katie should have done TDK for consistency purposes, but didn't so screw her KNAMHEANENA.

wonder if she regrets not being in TDK.

I'm back! It's a highly entertaining movie, but unfortunately the second act has moments where Nolan really loses control of the story. Characters turn into puppets in service of compressing time and some tension is lost due to plot points feeling forced. Though I never once felt it was bloated, rather the opposite. It honestly felt like Nolan had a 3.5 hour movie he had to cut down.

I'll eat some crow regarding Anne Hathaway, as she was indeed one of the strongest element, albeit oddly underused. Joseph Gordon-Levitt was probably my favorite of the supporting cast. Bane is a great villain, no worries there. There's an underlying sense of menace throughout the whole film because of him and his plan, but no single action scene that lived up to the jaw-dropping "wow" factor that was TDK's chase scene.

The film works better as a piece of the trilogy than a standalone, as I was impressed the way Nolan brought back many references and tied things together. He especially nails Bruce and a lot of his interactions with other characters results in the most emotion in any of the Batman films. There's tons to talk about, so I'll leave it at that. Especially since it's so late here.

I'm in the B range now, might take a second viewing to confirm. TDK = TDKR >> BB for me. It's a solid trilogy, but I don't consider any film to be flat-out great.
