Damn what's with all the Cap hate? I think I enjoy it more than the original Iron Man. I don't know if I'd put it above TDK but it's pretty good.

In my opinion, it's the worst MCU film, including Iron Man 2.

EDIT: Oh wait I forgot about Incredible Hulk. That one sucked. Cap was average.

The reason I mentioned anything is your goofy assertion as to the movie's pace. You should have just said you hated waiting that long for the suit to show up. It does take a while, but it's still the most interesting lead up to a comic book heros rise that I've seen to date.
I just found it dull and uninteresting and not worth it overall, where shaking about 20-30 minutes might make it more enjoyable. The movie could have used a lot of cutting. Now with TDK, a longer movie I never felt that at all at any point during the movie.

Man, my IMAX created a great atmosphere for opening night.
you just straight up bought it from LG

Hahaha from the bumpersticker thread

It's great, but why did they repeat the "Not yet" part in such quick succession...?! The editor inside me gets mad at that. Should've taken the first one out.
Personally the way the official trailers have had the music at the end is a bit maddening, it builds up, but doesn't really reach a peak. It's hard to explain , but the trailes don't end with an umpph that I thought they should.

So Sculli, when you look at the entire TDK saga, does it tell a completely satisfying tale, even if you had some issues with the final part of story?

Just curious what people think of it in the whole context of this giant story.

Gotta give credit where credit is due.

Looks like most people have said it has a wholly satisfying and amazing ending. I would also like to know Sculli's opinion on it, though I have a feeling it will be lukewarm.

I feel like I would look on the series more fondly if it ended with TDK's ending.

TDKR - though enjoyable, ultimately feels unnecessary to me.

I don't know why I keep reading this thread.

It feels like my hype has just been stabbed in the ribs multiple times and left for dead.

So I'm not asking for a detailed spoiler here, but since Heath Ledger died, is the contradiction of the ending of TDK and of reality addressed in the movie or ignored? Can someone just pm me. It's just bugging me and I don't want to start looking in spoiler threads or or google to try and find a narrow answer.

That doesn't make sense, nearly every single one of the 130 reviews apart from 1-2 have said the closure is perfect or near perfect.

Also RT has gone from 86 to 87 with 134 reviews

Just for the sake of contrast, I have to strongly disagree - if there is anything that TDKR does well, it is providing a sense of emotional catharsis and closure to this particular Batman story. There's an emotional weight to TDKR that is largely absent from TDK because that was, in many ways, Joker and Harvey's film.

The fate(s) of Batman and company at the end of TDKR is meaningful, and enriches the previous two films in retrospect.

The ending is really good - it's that pesky middle hour where things unravel slightly.

I disagree because (spoiling impressions in case, though not revealing anything in particular)
I don't feel like the film earned it's ending. Certainly what happens would have hit home a lot harder if the moments leading up to it felt genuine and not forced, but they rang hollow and ultimately failed to properly prepare me for the ending payoff.
