I thought she'd end up being Talia, but I will say I was surprised that it was her who was the child. I though they were gonna make Bain her brother, which seemed cheesy.

She gave herself up in the film when she volunteered to be the board member to press her hand or whatever. I didn't see any hints before that, I was looking quite carefully too

Yeah, this was my experience as well. Although I was hoping she wouldn't be for awhile there, before it became too obvious what was happening.

Speaking of cameos, I really enjoyed Crane's role as the twisted "judge". It was definitely fan-service, but it makes sense that he'd weasel his way into that kind of role, and I enjoyed it.

The Joker would have almost certainly been a major player if Heath was still around. It's hard to imagine them telling this story if that were the case.
 
Just got back. Tired as fuck but here are my current thoughts:

-I LOVED how murky and quiet the beginning was. It's one of those rare sequels that actually feels like a sequel, rather than a plug-and-play remake of the previous movie with different characters.

-The scene between Alfred and Bruce was crushing. Bale looked Machinist-levels of gaunt, and the whole thing felt really pathetic. Loved it.

-In fact, I'm surprised at how little action/Batman-ing there really was. A lot of people I spoke to after the movie hated it. You have to admit, it's sorta gutsy for a supposed blockbuster superhero flick to have so little popcorn shit.

-Nolan has finally learned to direct action scenes, somewhat. Not perfect, but punches connect in the same shot they're thrown! I about creamed myself during that tracking shot of JGL running into the hospital with the Mossberg shotgun, too. Awesome.

-I understand thematically why they did it, but the batsuit should never be filmed in daylight. It looked goofy as fuck. Likewise, Bane's voice was incredible 90% of the time - but christ, that opening scene. He sounded like Deckard Cain. What was the deal there?

-Talia twist was dumb and eye-rolly. Oh, a literal backstab. Oh, a literal twist of the knife. Great.

I really liked it. It wasn't at all what I expected.
 
I saw Talia coming a million miles away, unfortunately. I was spoilt by fan theories.

From what I can see, I believe that Crane's role is a perfect fit for Joker. Nolan out of the respect said he will not mention any sign of him.

I guess it's fun to assume that Joker is in Arkham Asylum chilling with Harlee Quinzel while the criminals are at Blackwater.

Batman showing up EMPing stuff then blowing the cops hat off depleted Batman's badass budget for some time.

well i understand why he didn't mention the joker. but it felt so...odd. like all that happened was Batman supposedly went berserk and Harvey Dent died and nobody in a purple suit ever showed up
 
Just got back from seeing the film. Was it just me or was there not enough Batman in this movie? I kept looking forward to the next time we would see Batman and those scenes felt few and far between.

Loved the beat down, breaks his back just like the comic but I felt the cowel breaking was the most shocking part
 
I liked the movie, but I think I'm gonna have to watch it again to see if I really loved it. I was surprised by how my friends though that the Talia reveal was out of nowhere when I thought it was pretty telegraphed.

It would've been fun seeing the back of a guy with similar hair as Heath shown leaving the prison into the unknown. They could've used Heath's stunt double.
 
I loved the sequence where batman comes back (The first time), the EMP of all the lights in the tunnel and the place going dark as he flies past in the darkness.

I didn't like that fact that The Bat was introduced so early though, felt really weird seeing him fly it around like a shuttle service.
 
I didn't know nuts about Talia though people did muse about it from time to time. I was pleasantly (though not totally unexpectedly) surprised by the reveal. Then the reveal continued to Bane and I liked the twist.

That scene was excellent - one of my highlights for sure, the other being Bruce climbing out of the prison and the parallels with the well from batman begins.

I loved the film - not quite as much as the first two, but I loved it. Anne Hathaway stole the show for me.

There was lots of little moments I keep going back to, not so much a review for me on here but I'll just keep adding my recollection of moments.

I loved with the first bane vs batman fight, batman starts with his usual fighting style as in batman begins but just finds himself completely lost when it has no effect on bane, he's just not feeling the pain. And the back breaking argh, I never thought they'd actually do it.
 
Just saw this a few hours ago. My immediate reaction is that it is better than Begins but much worse than DK.

The pacing was off at times like the whole movie was in a rush but at the same time didn't keep my heart pounding the way The Dark Knight did. The audio also seemed unbalanced especially whenever Bane spoke. It really did sound like they overdubbed his voice or something. The ambient sound seemed to cut out whenever Bane spoke.

Also I wish, just this once, that Nolan wouldn't do the whole foreshadow the ending in the beginning thing. When Alfred started talking about the cafe I knew that was how it would end. There were some other minor issues like some bad acting in the smaller roles.

I loved the Bruce healing/training stuff the best. That whole part of the movie had the most emotion for me. The Talia and Bane twist was okay but not very impactful for me. I really liked the ending, minus the John Blake stuff.

I'm still mulling it in my head.
 
I thought the film was fantastic from Batman and Bane's first fight to the end of the film with the exception of a nitpick. I get why they did it, but I would've preferred if during the ending we saw Alfred and Bruce in France as the very last thing before the credits.
 
That shot of Bane hammering his fist on Batman's head against the floor was incredible. The fight choreography in this was miles above anything in BB and TDK.
 
i cant believe that ive now seen a live action version of bane lifting batman over his head and breaking his back.

anyway, i liked how batman was barely in this movie.

i also like how across all 3 movies, bruce wayne was actually batman for, like, a few months.
haha.

edit: oh, another great moment in a fight scene was at the end when batman broke bane's mask and bane put him against a column and just started going nuts on him. you could tell bane went into a 'now i gotta get this done quick' mode.
