meh at least it should have been 30 mintues longer it wasn't long enough in the right parts.I wonder if Nolan/WB considered making this a two part film?
Anyone got a link to the man of steel teaser?
I loved the film because fuck you Nolan, that's why.
Personally, I think it would have benefited the film slightly. No big loss, but the buildup of the characters and plot could have been its own movie, with the payoff being another.I wonder if Nolan/WB considered making this a two part film?
It felt like a good mix of both. Youll see.
With the event in Denver the release have been delayed.
I like Begins much more than the tdk, main reason for that is that the look and feel of tdk didn`t work for me as a batman movie. It felt more like a Michael Mann movie than batman`s universe.
So the tdkr returns to have mostly a more batman like atmosphere like Begins? Did you like Begins or tdk more?
Can't tell what this means haha
What the Superman trailer? Why?
Pretty easy metric - if you didn't feel the microwave emitter in Begins was preposterous, if you weren't bored by the first hour, if you're not biased there will never be a Joker sized villain again, if you have forgiven the minor flaws that are both present in BB and TDK where there is just inconsistencies on how what could happen when, and if you don't go to Batman films for just Batman, but also for Bruce Wayne, then you will love the shit out of this.
If not, temper your expectations accordingly.
just got back it was strictly OK.
It felt like Batman and his Shitty friends.
1) too over the top
2) too many characters
3) way too many leaps in logic
4) just too bloated in general.
Don't understand the too many characters criticism if not levelled at TDK as well. Also the bloated one.
Nolan must be cursing his luck...Ledger dies near TDK's release, now a massacre on TDKR's opening. Really hope this doesn't affect the movies impression on people though. The cast is canceling interviews and premier in Paris was canceled as well because of this.
I will make that metldown thread. Calling it in the OT OT thread now.Mark Kermode's review + Interview with Nolan

Mostly the same questions he always gets: 3D, CGI, etc etc
He confirms that Wally won't be his DP (Yes he said DP, Sculli!) anymore now that he's a director and he's looking for a new one. He also reconfirms that he wants to do Bond and has met with the producers before.
It's going to happen, Solo. Accept it.
I think the fact that Joker was so magnetic in that movie masked some of that.
True, but there still should be a criticism that there was too many characters and it was bloated.
I'm surprised how much TDK love really is being put down to the Joker, wow.

You're surprised that the best character in the film (and the best performance in the trilogy) is being praised?
TDK was an entertaining movie (my favorite of the two, seeing the third tonight) but interest just picks up immensely whenever Joker appeared on screen, and you could see it in the audience too.
Waiting for Bluray release as I am spoiled by my own movie theater but I forgave all the movies for the above so I am hopeful.Pretty easy metric - if you didn't feel the microwave emitter in Begins was preposterous, if you weren't bored by the first hour, if you're not biased there will never be a Joker sized villain again, if you have forgiven the minor flaws that are both present in BB and TDK where there is just inconsistencies on how what could happen when, and if you don't go to Batman films for just Batman, but also for Bruce Wayne, then you will love the shit out of this.

When are you seeing it?
By the end of next week. You already saw it? Team begins or team dark knight?
Joker was fantastic, he really was. I'm not surprised that he is being praised, but how much he seemed central to TDK being loved. He isn't in it all that much, it seems like the rest of the film - especially Harvey - gets left in the wake of Joker and that's a cited reason why many people seem to like TDK more; purely because of Joker.
I guess, but I felt that everyone - Bruce, Harvey, etc. - was pushed aside due to the focus being mostly on Joker in TDK. I know who all these people are - save for Rachel due to not being in the books - but man, Two-Face was not developed at all for me (hell, I felt they gave him due in Forever moreso than in TDK) while everything was basically highlighting the Joker.
As I said in the other thread, I felt that TDK really was a Joker-centric film rather than a Batman/Bruce Wayne one, which is why I prefer BB more due to it being Bruce-centric. Despite not being in total love with TDKR, it's stronger than TDK for me because of Bruce's arc.
An odd request, but can ducky or some other mod please consider this:
The title of the spoiler thread is tooo similar to this. I almost accidently clicked that twice (same length title, and both these threads are alternating to the top of the list in OT).
Can that thread be put in the community forum, for at least a while or have its title modified so that it doesnt resemble this one? I'm trying to avoid OT and use my subscriptions to enter this thread, but I want to read other stuff in OT too.
Pls.
Harvey was the most developed character in the whole film
Isn't it about time Solo got back? I get the feeling he's gonna be quite disappointed, don't know why
He said he had some shit to do right after the show.Isn't it about time Solo got back? I get the feeling he's gonna be quite disappointed, don't know why
