I've become such an addicted shipper lately that I even ship people who I know in real life. It's a plague. Help.

Speaking of shipping, it's nice to know that for once, instead of shying away from the slash/gay pairing, a company (namely MTV) actually exploited it for votes. Baiting the Teen Wolf fangirls to the max. I applaud MTV and the cast/crew:

Awwwe.

I guess fried chicken is that important to some people. Regrettable.

Oh, gurl: You haven't lived until you've deep fried your own chicken from your yard.

Fried chicken even then isn't that good. I'll take cow over chicken any day of the week.

Though on the topic of 'Teen Wolf', the new series has tons of gay content, an openly gay character and the producer/writer is gay too; so they not only aim for the "fangirls" (but also "fanboys") and neither are shy about that kind of stuff. XD

One of the recent episodes was on a gay bar, and they went there to try to rescue the gay character since the "main enemy" of this season was expected to be there. It involved a few shirtless guys dancing, the main character been offered free drinks by another guy and an interesting exchange between the other character and his dad, which is
or well, was :p
the town sheriff and his son "coming out" (as an excuse to nto stalk about the enemy) and failing at it (something like Son: What? I can't be gay?" ..Dad: "Not with those clothes!".)

The ratings continue as strong, so they seem to continue pleasing their audience (season 3 was confirmed at Comic-Con). :p

The show's great, I recommend it to everyone because at first I thought it would be "another MTV show" but it turned out to be quite good. Like a more "lite" True Blood and in this season they started mixing other mythologies (-as in not just wolves anymore-, but with a more centered plot (unlike True Blood, which I love..but sometimes has multipel plots during a season).

On the one hand, it's only fried chicken.

On the other hand, it's just some god damn fried chicken.

Course, there isn't any Chick-fil-a in Canada so it's just an intriguing discourse to observe especially since the majority of posters are (presumably) straight.

Dissing fried chicken all together? You guys are taking it a step too far. It's delicious!

Curious. How did you get your tag?

I think a company in Canada would be destroyed if they came out as openly anti-gay. Hell I'm glad that we have laws against hate speech on radio/magazines/ad space.

Well, they certainly can't donate to anti-marriage legislation, that's for sure.

Course, the whole Prop 8 thing was absolutely ridiculous on more than just the marriage issue. Here's a piece of legislature that actually revoked state given rights. And a vast majority of people don't really seem to care. Thankfully, our government isn't foolish enough to open that can of worms.

Yeah that was awful and basically shouldn't have been allowed. You can't just vote away someones rights... Im pretty sure thats the point of a charter of rights or constitution.

That is unintentionally terrifying. I'm not sure which is more baffling - the fact that this was made or that fact that there are so many videos of a similar theme.

It is indeed the point.

One of the few good things to come out of that debacle was this Youtube channel, particularly with the expert testimonies.

It's unfortunate that this even has to be presented before the Supreme Court in the first place. I remember this seemingly like a mess the moment it was first reported and I and many of my friends really couldn't believe this thing got past the voting stage.

Interesting channel by the way.

I watched the whole thing as it came out. It's a complete reenactment of the court transcripts, based on the eyewitness reports. It was produced in lieu of being able to actually see what happened.

And as I said, I particularly liked the section with the expert witnesses. It basically is an extended demolishing of every attempt at a serious argument against gay marriage you've ever heard.

Hmmm I'm going on a date with a nasty daddy today:P. Damn his triceps look good in his profile... Knowing me I'll probably mess it up. My dates only go well with guys I don't really like.

So me and this guy from before have been hanging out every day since the other night. We told our friend. He's less pissed now than he was.

Things are going well. Only problem(?) is that he's not out to a lot of people. He's coming over tonight after the Dark Knight gets out, so that'll be nice.

is there a pattern or correlation between the current season of the year and people getting more dates/love?

I've been lurking the Dating and the OKC thread and people seem to be improving their romantic lives in the last days and I get the feeling in this thread too.

I wonder how are they doing it.

Everyone at work used to order Chick Fil A all the time, and finally one of them asked why I never got anything from there so I explained that they are adamantly against any gay rights. I must have struck a chord because everyone there is now boycotting Chick Fil A. I guess its no big loss for them anyway because their food is mediocre at best.

What's with the whispering? Hair stylists don't whisper.

It's called ASMR and it's actually quite amazing if you are able to relax with it. There are many videos on YouTube if you search "ASMR" that feature whispering because that is a common trigger (my biggest one) that gives me this tingling feeling in my brain if I close my eyes and I'm laying down.

There's a whole sub-reddit dedicated to it (http://www.reddit.com/r/asmr/) and it's awesome if you can find some good videos. Bob Ross works extremely well for me. I wouldn't call the video I linked a particularly good one but I found the guy really cute.

Curious. How did you get your tag?

It was in the Wii Speculation thread right before E3. We were making predictions and I predicted the next two members to get banned in thread. So clearly I have a sixth sense.

Well, you were probably that cord. It's hard to be uncaring to a cause when you see someone affected by it everyday.

I just find it odd that people have such a huge struggle over a fast food joint. Then again, I don't particularly like food.

Aha! J'accuse!

Interesting concept though. I'm not sure I would take to it as I find it more unsettling than not.

Ah, I see. Can you tell me my future? Am I not long for this world?

A coffee company here in Australia is copping it pretty rough over a donation to an anti gay marriage group.

Did you watch the play re-enactment '8'? I thought Jane Lynch was amazing as Maggie Gallagher (plus having Rory in it always makes it awesome).

I'm two pages late, but I watched the first episode of Political Animals, and I won't be seeing the rest. It's poorly written, the show doesn't do anything remotely interesting with its setup, and the characters are so completely unlikable and dull that the show's actually boring to watch.

In between this and Queer as Folk I've been watching a lot of disappointing television.

I, personally, just gave up on television. Why are you watching Queer as Folk?

I haven't actually sat down and watched TV since PBS stopped broadcasting Sherlock, so it's strange that in the past week I've seen four hours of television.

I started watching QAF because I thought might be interesting and my library had the first season on DVD when I went. I wasn't going to go out of my way to watch the show, but it was there, and I was looking for something to watch. I'm two episodes in (of five seasons, so it probably improves), and it's just not what I wanted. It's not even necessarily bad, but it's not for me.

I just assumed it was bad from the subject matter. Perhaps that's a tad judgmental but I've actually never heard of someone praising the show.

Really? The few times I've seen people talk about the show, the comments have been positive. I'm glad the show exists, if only because it's an interesting and bold take on the gay nightlife scene, but I don't personally have the need for an overacted, overproduced show about a group of gay men whose lives seem to revolve around sex, drugs, and alcohol. It's too soapy for my tastes (which is where my overproduced complaint comes in) and I'm worried that as/if I continue watching the show, it's going to handle serious subjects really poorly, because everything in this show (again, I've only seen two episodes) is done without any subtlety or grace. Honestly, as a major fan of the first--and only the first--season of Gossip Girl, QAF reminds me of a CW show, just with a more interesting and believable cast.

Also, I'm glad you've posted more because I've finally been knocked down from the top poster spot. :D

Hi guys, I'm a bit new in all this, I came out to my friends about a year ago, but haven't told my family, I also have not hang out with other gay people (that I know of) so that sucks. I'm an introvert so It's not easy for me to meet people in general. Culturally where I live homosexuality is still a bad thing, though I guess it's not bad compared to other places. Anyway, just wanted to "present" myself haha.

bribery, mostly
