Anyone got 7374 highway pickup, one of the new creator sets? It just popped up in the uk lego.com store and I'm tempted because it's a good looking truck

Got my skiff and hopefully the last 3 Team GB figures I needed. Boba's going to whip the team into Gold medal position.

Also got a couple of BL orders for a MOC I'm doing. Going for a starfighter with inspiration from Vic Viper, R-Type and the Arwing.

Hey everyone!

This is my first post on neogaf but I've been lurking this awesome thread for a long time.

I just wanted to thank Lord Error for the parts list for the Dasnewten's Sarigar model. I never would have bothered to figure out how to use bricklink or even attempt the model without that parts list.

Here are a few pics of it. Everyone that said it is hard isn't lying. A soft breeze can cause the wings to fall off. :)

Edit* Well I'll figure out flickr later. Here is the link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/parallacs/7601312480/

Where did you get the parts list for it? And how much did it end up costing you?

Is the 9493 X-Wing a decent set for a first Star Wars set? And is $40 a good price for it?

The X-Wing I bought a few months ago was my first real Lego build in almost 30 years, aside from some small Friends sets. I really enjoyed it and was amazed at the advances in both the build strategies and the instructions. There was a particular moment that really surprised me with its innovation.

Definitely buy it. I still need to get the Tie Fighter to bring balance to the force.

The MSRP is actually only $120 on this set, Target has been learning some tricks from TRU about marking items up to have them go on sale.

Yeah, so only about $20 savings. Sorry about that, I am usually on point about these things, but events today have thrown me off balance.

I am actually surprised at how much Im liking the LotR sets. I really wasn't sure if I wanted them (Walmart didnt have any of the new Star Wars sets), but after building them, they are quite enjoyable.

(Shelob was built too of course, didn't like the pictures I took though :P)

TIE Fighter is an ok build, but is one of the best looking display ships. Just perfect.

Gandalf Arrives ftw. Such a small and simple set, but glorious because of it.

Just got this at my local Toys R Us BM using 20% off coupon from their website. Paid 159.99 before tax.

So far I got the following Lego Technic sets.

Lego 8069 Backhoe Loader
Lego 8043 Excavator
Lego 8110 Unimog
Lego Mindstorm NXT 2.0

I still have these on my wishlist.

Lego 8070 Supercar
Lego 9396 Helicoptor

Ever since my 5 year old son got a LEGO boat and truck set randomly for Christmas from my wife's uncle, the nostalgia for LEGO washed over me again and for the past few months we've picked him up some other small vehicles etc to the point of where he has a nice little box of random pieces. He tends to disassemble what I put together within a half hour of making them so I take pics right after I finish before he can get to them.

For the record, I'm 38 years old and owned just about every classic (As in circa 1979-1984) space LEGO set I can remember...It brings me to tears thinking about how they are all gone and I don't have them to share with my son now. I adored them. This thread has really brought back some awesome memories because LEGO and the old Star Wars toys were my two favorites growing up. However, IMO, LEGO is timeless. Because of my love of Transformers back in the day, I remember fondly creating something I used to call 'LEGOFormers' which were vehicles that would turn into robots without any dis-assembly. My parents were pretty impressed and joked I should have patented the idea.

We took my son to Toys R Us today and as I was holding these in the LEGO aisle my wife took them, threw them into the cart and bought them for me. Thought I would share the pics (Although my son ain't touching *these* heh).

Nothing fancy, but I thought these were really cool for a couple of cheapies. ;)

He loves Ninjago (Personally, I find them hideous), and that leaves a lot of interestingly different random pieces laying around. As a kid with the space LEGO, I used to love making futuristic, armored rolling tank vehicles so here are a couple I've done over the past couple months with the meager selection of parts I have so far...

Snake 'tank'.

Some other moon assault vehicle...

Thanks for letting me share...This is easily one of my favorite threads on GAF. I love seeing what you guys are doing.

Your post made me go look in my ToysRUs. (I was planning to get the 9398 and the 8070).

Neither were in stock but the sales associate was patient enough to do a store order at another store. The 8070 will get shipped out to me. (The 9398 doesn't show up in their in-store inventory at all, so couldn't place an order for that.)

The Super Car is $132 in their system, so it cost me about $110 post tax.

As an aside, bot the X-Wing and the Tie-Fighter seem to be marked down to $44.99 this weekend.

The Toys R Us that has them are in stock are Alhambra and Glendale in CA. I called those store yesterday to see if they have them in yet and the store clerk said no. Luckily I decided to go in to the one in Alhambra since I was passing by, they had a lot of them on display :| ...... last time I trust a store associate to be useful. The supercar is suppose to be 119.99(It's even on their website), I am not sure why your store is 132.00.

Completely agree. I had only planned on getting Helm's Deep and Moria - for parts! - but after building them I had to have the entire series. They are much more impressive than the box art makes them out to be.

I can't wait for Bag End. Once again, the previews make it look a little puny! But I have faith in the series now. Hopefully someday we get mega-sets...what I wouldn't give for a giant Minas Tirith or Battle of Isengard set...

edit: What happened to nicoga? :(

LOVE the lighting being done here and its impact on the sets!

The sinister red lighting with Gollum lurking in the background, and the shadow just covering Gandalf's eyes, giving him the air of mystery and a little suspicion.

Picked up the Skiff set while I was out. Really liked this set too. Got this set, along with a big box of LEGO for my wife to play with. Toys R Us, but at least there was that 20% coupon.

The parts list is on page 119 of this thread, provided by Lord Error.

If I had realized that I the parts list is set to new and not used, been strict about staying on track with only ordering what I needed, and doing better bargain hunting, I could have probably build everything pictured for about $100.

However, I ended up blowing a lot on pieces I didn't need. Apparently, orange wedge pieces are my weakness.

Long day of work. 3 days down, 3 to go. So why not unwind by making another modular building!

NO KITTY! That is my disassembled Cars set I bought only to strip for parts! You don't even know how to build!

What I slapped together while watching a movie. Plan on making it a Sweets Shop. It will only be one floor and a roof when it is all done. Mainly because I lack the pieces to make another floor. So this will be a tiny one, but I aim to make up for it with interior detail.

And my wife is leaving town for a week next week, and will be going by the Lego store in IL for me to fill a few pick a brick cups. Just gave her an idea of what I want, but I would use just about anything. Basically told her just grab anything that you think I might use, but any flat tiles or studs on sides pieces would be godly. Very curious to see what stuff she picks out for me.

This pic is GREAT!

Glad everyone seems to like it. I should say, they haven't really been edited all that much, just a slight shift to yellow on the overall tint of the image. Dual flashes, one of which can't really be controlled power-wise since it is a cheaper flash. It is set on my long sleeve shirt tha t I had laying out. Even that flatness of the colors, that people seem to like to imitate lately, was due to the way the flash was, not extensive color editing.

The over exposure made the clear stand basically invisible, and made the skiff look like it was actually floating.

Have you seen the iPick-A-Brick site?

iPhone page is here. it might work on regular browsers. Also, home page is here.

Oh, btw, great WIP on your new modular!

I had just sworn off minifig collecting and any other Lego purchases for the foreseeable future....but that Gandalf Arrives set is so good and so cheap....

This thread, man. This thread.

Beware starting down the dark path of mini figs. BEWARE!

Neat site, but it shows "updated 1 year ago" when I select the store my wife will be heading to. So I have no clue how accurate it is. But if it is, I am going to tell her to stockpile those 1x6x6 clear wall pieces.

Went out and bought Gandalf Arrives thanks to your pictures, Borman. I'm pretty gutted that I didn't get the hair sticking out of the 1x1 circle brick that you have there. It really brings the set together :).

Just get a cat. That will solve the problem. I know a few places in my sets where the structure gets randomly hairy. Adds character to spaceships.
