Try messing around with your talents. I think a scepter/focus elementalist is best in PvP, with max points in earth and fire lines. Pick up all the talents that increase condition duration and damage. There's one glyph, in particular, that can be kept up close to 100% of the time with the right talents that adds conditions to every spell you cast. I got two stacks of burning @ 1.2k damage apiece over 2 seconds for the fire autoattack, which is really nice. Fire and Earth will be your main attunements, earth for survivability and slows, fire for DPS, though you'll dip into air and water for speed buffs and heals respectively occasionally.
I think I found out my playing with my friend problem...I thought you could make characters on different servers so I made the initial one on an American server then a second character on a European Server to play in french with my friend but it looks like you cant unless you transfer...?the second one I made is still on the American server...
Did a bit of "testing" (aka running around 5 or more minutes looking at the Afterburner FPS and GPU % usage charts) of the Graphics Settings and performance using the Graphic preset slider.
My PC:
i7 2600k @4.5GHz (They say that OC CPUs make the game have lower performance so take that in mind)
MSI 560ti Twin Frozr II (With OC)
Place: Grand Piazza Lion Arch. Walking around the Lion, tho traveling to other places of the cities show similar results.
Results:
1.Best Performance:
60fps steady.
35% usage GPU
2.Between B.Performance and Balanced
60fps steady.
55% usage GPU
3.Balanced:
60fps with some dips to 50~55fps
75% GPU usage
4.Between Balanced and B. Appearance
55fps ~ 45fps
85% usage GPU
5.B. Appearance
35fps ~ 45fps
90% usage GPU
Tomorrow i will test how it goes in battle.
They need to optimize more but at least the GPU is working now. If they can improve 4 and 5 i will be happy.

They have a heal aoe on the floor skill, a utility turret skill, aoe root utility and 3 elites, i'm not 30 so i can't see them :/.

Yeah. It might be the first MMO where all available races are enjoyable, though that isn't entirely hard to do with only 5 races from the get-go.
I was very hesitant on the Norn prior to BWE1, but doing one through PVE until level 10ish on BWE2 sold me on them to the point where I may make my main on there. Loved the Charr, and the Humans don't bore me to tears - Divinity's Reach is beyond impressive.
But as soon as I hit Rata Sum on the Asura, I got sold instantly. That place is great. I was expecting the typical "this is just gnomes/hobbits/yodas" but there are bits and pieces of them that stand out. I love the fact that they are filled with arrogance. Meanwhile the Sylvari are, from my own perspective, the most boring but I imagine that is only due to barely touching them. I enjoyed the initial designs and ideas about them, so tomorrow I'm going to spend some time fooling around on a Mesmer over there and see how it goes. I still enjoy the idea of plants imitating bipedal lifeforms.
I also enjoy the fact that the animations are of the typical Blizzard smooth.
Overall the two "new" additions are more than welcome, and I'd love to see ArenaNet continually go all out with additional races down the line. I know there's the typical "new skin, same shit" argument, but this ol' RP hat prefers to explore all of those places and experience the stories they make up. And really I don't see why they couldn't add more classes in further expansions providing there is good balance.

You should try to contact ArenaNet about it through the forums. See if they can whip up a solution for you.
I'm not seeing DX11, either. Not sure this game has DX11 support. I could be wrong tho - I haven't researched it.

It might support DX11 later in the same way WoW supported it - not as a way to boost graphics, but as a way to boost performance on DX11 cards.
Well, that makes more sense. still rather laggy though and i dont think I should be getting that with my system, especially on the low settings i have it on. Maybe its just because there is a shit ton of people in the zones

Just started as a Human Mesmer and played for 30 minutes, but I don't think I like this game. Is it really just a bunch of frantic events non-stop that anyone can participate in? Seems like it has a heavy story and cutscene-focus, too :/

Have you tried adjusting options on the interface? You can speed up the camera turn speed.

Are you sure you bought the right game? Sometimes there are zergs, but it's not at all difficult to go in a different direction from then. You even get bonus xp for killing mobs that haven't died in a while encouraging such behavior. Also there's like no story or cutscene focus at all lol. If you're just doing your personal story then you're playing the game wrong. Just go out and explore. Also you can and should increase the camera speed.
Also my sylvari guardian. Totally love the glow.
In related news, guardian range still absolutely blows.

If you can get in, Gate of Madness for the US and Gandara for EU. Gate of Madness filled up temporarily, and people started rolling on Henge of Denravi also.

It's kinda making me want to reconsider going Guardian for the WvW antics in my guild, but I'm thinking that as long as I'm playing with everyone and keep things flowing then I shouldn't have too much of a problem.
