right my bad, remembered wrongly! but i hate the convenient note part, too much convenience in tdkr. i also hated the cliche villain talks for long before pressing the detonator! and why was batman shooting at an atom bomb?!

also what was the point of bane pouring explosives and blowing up the undergrounds? in the trailers i thought was some plan to build an underground prison for the rich people or something....occupy gotham part was pretty underwhelming.

imo if nolan combined parts of bb and tdkr, get rid of the arm touting mech, bring back ninja LOS, more ras alghul, get rid of the nuclear bomb plot, get rid of Manhattan island, US president and army, bring back my dark gotham, the narrows.. get rid of jgl, stockbroker plot, keep crane, mafia, bane, catwoman and talia, now make that a two parter, could be a great comic hero movie we deserve!
Nuclear bombs don't detonate when attacked like that, they have to be specifically armed and detonated to actually go off.

He had time after the explosion. No one would be looking around for Wayne. No one really cared about Wayne at that point. The only people who would care about Wayne knew he was Batman and assumed he died so they wouldn't be looking around for him. To everyone else it would just be likely Wayne died in the Bane aftermath cause a lot of rich people did. The funeral likely wasn't till MONTHS after Batman "died" since Wayne would likely be classified as missing for a long while with everyone else while civilization got back in order.

That's the best I could figure too but it seems like it would be a huge hint to Alfred and co. that he was alive if his will was changed after the explosion. I suppose it didn't matter though. Why did Wayne fake his death anyway now that I think about it. The only people who thought he was dead was the people who knew he was Batman. He then proceeds to tell all of them that he was alive anyway. Why couldn't he just permanently move to Italy or wherever? Was he running from his debts?

League of Shadows?

He faked Batman's death, that was the important thing, and also decided to end his time as Bruce Wayne, too. If both are "dead", that's the end of it for him. There were villains were knew his identity after all.

Permission to die repetition didn't come off nearly as well as they were hoping for.

Bruce obviously should have shattered Bane over his knee and said 'You broke my back and left me for dead. Consider us even!'

If only instead of throwing explosive powders at Bane, he decided to throw a couple of those handy tranquilizer darts.

Batman choked under pressure.

The appearance of Talia just undermine almost everything about Bane, Nolan fool us. We all thought he chose Bane because he got brains and brawn to match Batman and the movie did made Bane look intelligent with the planning and with all the chaos he is causing but in the end Talia reveal herself and to be the one who planned out everything and Bane got reduced to cannon fodder.

He faked his death because he wanted to leave Gotham forever. Both as Bruce and Bat. He needed to let everyone other than those close to him think both of his persona's were dead. So they wouldn't expect him to come back. Not sure how he could ever do that without faking his death. Bruce has a lot of ties and expectations in Gotham, almost as much as Batman. He is basically the biggest celebrity in the city. If he didn't fake Bruce's death there would be a lot of expectations set on him as a sort of figurehead still.

And maybe Alfred did suspect he was alive with the will stuff which took place after the funeral which is when he thought he was dead? Perhaps that is why he kept going to the little cafe in Paris.

Talia never said she was responsible for anything specific. She just said she wanted to complete his father's plan.

As if Bruce wouldn't ask Alfred to live with him and Selina. Alfred all alone. :(

Based on the first Alfred scene Alfred clearly didn't want to. His dream was just to see Wayne was happy and had a life and a family. Hell Alfred is a old man. Who'd want to still be a butler? Better to be some old bachelor hanging around Paris.

Seriously though, Cotillard's acting during her death scene was Razzie-worthy.

HOW DO YOU CHOOSE THAT TAKE, NOLAN?!

It was part of his Raimi SM1 tribute. Talia = Osbourne.

The inaudible part of Bane's dialogue after he breaks Batman is him saying 'Misery misery, misery. That's what you've chosen. We offered you friendship and you spat in our face!' Then he rips the cowl off.

I'd like to think that Bruce would have reached out to Alfred and they would have patched their differences up.

You see Alfred get up to leave after he gets the nod.

Oh yeah, instead of the cafe ending scene, end it like ten years later and just put the prestige ending scene in, they're still doing the nod!

Full circle!

But that isn't what Alfred wants? He clearly told Bruce he just wants to acknowledge he is doing good and move on with his life. Not be buddy buddy.

So what was the spoiler that the account suicide poster revealed in the other thread a few days ago? I kinda wish I didn't follow the movie so closely.

yea I groaned at that part, so bad.

Unless you watch the rest of the film where Bane is in charge because Talia's undercover.

Anybody feel like the movie felt awfully fast paced and kinda hurried for such a long film? Especially in the first half.

I'd definitely be interested in seeing an extended cut, if Nolan would ever be up to doing something like that.

Nolan is very anti-director cuts/extended cuts and films should remain as they were in theaters flaws and all so the chances of that are likely around zero.

would anyone actually like to see another film in this continuity or do you think they need to start fresh? Can JGL handle the mantle? i thought he was incredible in this

Judge was the best character. Not a comic book guy. But I hope he was a real character because he was awesome

lol what. You never saw Batman Begins? The Judge was one of the main villains of the first movie. And he was in The Dark Knight! Only character (and actor) to be in all three other than Batman, Gordon, Fox, & Alfred.
