Correct! Steven Austin ain't go shit on Bruce Wayne!
I think it's debatable whether this is better than Bane vs. Batman or not.

I really hope ticket sales pick up soon. I wonder if all movies are under preforming as a result of the shooting or just TDKR. This movie, more than TDK, deserves to set records and receive awards.
It'll be interesting to see how it performs after this weekend. The ending is such a crowd-pleaser, especially in light of such a tragedy.

I wonder what kind of effect the shootings will ultimately have on the box office of TDKR. Will the people holding out right now go watch it a week later? Will the diminished opening fan fare cause diminished anticipation?
One things for sure, the Blu ray sales will be enormous.

I would have liked to heard what happened to the Joker. How do you let all the scum of Gotham loose and not tell what happened to him? Either he died or he got free with the rest of them. They said they told Joker's story and didn't want to piss on Ledger's grave, but Crane's story was already told as well yet he is in it.

Would've been in bad taste IMO. You either have to say:

He died in prison (bad taste)
He's alive and well in prison (badder taste)

Can't see how they could've done that without it sounding forced and awkward.

EDIT: Why are there ads in posts...?

I was not a fan of the ending at first but after sleeping on it, it really grew on me. Perfect ending, though, I think Blake should have gotten the mansion somehow. I mean he has to have access to the cave easily from his house if he is going to be Batman.

There were maybe 15 other people in the theater when I went today. Made for a great viewing experience but they've got to be losing money by running shows every 20 minutes

Bane: "Why did you bring him here."

Merc: "He's the commissioner."

Bane: "Now he knows we are here. Search him and then I'll kill you."
(Merc finds Gordon's letter. Gordon jumps in the sewer.)
Bane: "Go and get him."
Merc: "He's gone in the sewers"
Bane: "Follow him." (shoots merc)

Unfortunately, I feel like a bunch of people who were looking forward to watching the film this weekend aren't going to watch it at all.

He died, they didn't want to touch it. Don't see why people can't just respect the decision.

Loved that bit. Man the opening shot of Hardy in the sewers was so good.

Bane's line when he sees the bat signal on the bridge "That's impossible" came off as comical, it wasn't serious nor angry or frustrated. The way he said it made some folks, including myself laugh.

And why is everyone saying Superman looks like Batman begins. I got a serious 300/Gladiator feel from that. Looked pretty great.

Yeah.. felt dumb

Didn't connect the kid that Blake finds with Bane gang until I spoke with a friend...

Then also made me realize how he knew where to find Gordon.

That whole thing was comical. Gotham is about to be destroyed and he wastes time putting flaming stuffs up on some bridge.

Saw it a few others ago. Brilliant end to a brilliant trilogy.

On the way there, my friends and I were joking about Batman's WHERE ARE THEYYYYYYYY moments. When one occurred near the end of the film, we tried out best not to laugh but simply couldn't hold it in. The looks we got...

It's kinda absurd.
If they got someone else to play Joker and brought him back for some kind of Cameo like Scarecrow, it would have been disrespectful to Ledger.
If they had just had someone making a throwaway comment about Joker being broken out and running around it would have been completely pointless and gotten edited out of the film anyway (and maybe was!)

I really don't understand people's complaints about this.

Inspiring the people to act is kind of the point of Batman.
Yeah, I loved that part of it.

The thug is knocked out by a baterang and the music kicks in. Gordon sees the flare, batman says "light it up" and then we see him, almost as good in the motorcycle chase in the beginning with the cop saying "Oh you're in for a show tonight, son!"

Mindless fanboy pining usually. Then when it actually happens, they're the first to come out and say how bad it was.

The Joker did not require a reference in this movie, and I think that helped the movie more than anything.

Seriously. No matter what, Joker is too big for just a cameo.

My friend pointed me to the most incredibly insane but worthwhile conspiracy theory regarding third films:

"Studio execs ensure shitty trilogy endings so that they can continue the franchise without fans obsessing over the previous incarnation to the point of hampering the future films."

Immaculate.

The only thing I really didn't like was the whole "Robin" reveal. I would of been better if they named him Dick Grayson instead of his actual name being Robin.

As far as the Joker goes:

-At the end of TDK he told Batman that they were destined to fight each other forever, if Nolan had even an inkling of an idea that he would have Bruce "retire" this should have been cut and it would have made a reference in TDKR easier because that chapter would have been closed where as the ending of TDK leaves it open.

-There really was not a need to reference the Joker in TDKR as it stands anyways. The whole city was against Batman and he was the one who stopped the Joker. The public was rallied behind Dent to reference the Joker one would have to reference Batman and that would not have been popular with the people of Gotham.

-If any reference was to be made it should have been done at the statue unveiling. Gordon should have pulled a Cain with some tears an recited a speech. The speech should not have mentioned the Joker by name. Instead, the speech should have gone something like, "He rid our city of fear, brought an end to organized crime, fought against anarchy and terrorism, took the fall for the sins of another, and ultimately sacrificed everything for the people of Gotham. He lived for this city and now we must live for him. He was a guardian, a protector, and (man tears) a friend". The reference to anarchy and terrorism would have sufficed for the Joker.

Just my thoughts.

The fact that people were taking their kids to watch this is a little disturbing honestly......The bane parts had me batting my eyes a little bit. This is definately not a family movie.

I'd say most kids are used to people getting punched and stuff, that's nothing. My parents let me watch way worse stuff and I turned out fine.

It wasn't even the punching....The point blank executions by blane and head snapping was enough to not let me put my kids anywhere close to this movie. That's my opinion any way.

Like seriously, maybe today's standards of what's disturbing are higher.......The movie was darker than the previous two. Theme wise especially and the whole atmosphere.

Yea, not like his character was building to that at all.

The delivery was terrible. Its one of those moments where you can tell by the timing of the dialogue that they were expecting a reaction, like on a sitcom when they pause for the laugh-track. I want to say the movie had one other moment like that but I can't remember what it was.

There had to be a better way to do so. My issue with it was the fact that I now have to picture Batman up there doing that like some sketchy graffiti artist getting flaming stuffs all over his cape and having to wash it off later.
