For people going today, how were crowds? Seems like Friday's box office ended up on the low end of expectations.

I went to the 350 show today. packed. our theater had the 7pm 10pm and 2am (sunday) sold out.

As for the movie, FUCKING AMAZING. I still think Batman begins is the best one, but I like this one better than The Dark Knight.

TDKR doesn't have best bane

DAMN STRAIGHT!

I guess I haven't seen that many of the superhero movies but my list would probably look something like this:

Excellent
1. Batman Begins
2. The Dark Knight
3. The Amazing Spider-Man
4. Iron Man
5. X-Men First Class
6. The Avengers

Very Good
7. Spider-Man
8. Thor

Good
9. Spider-Man 2

Mediocre
10. Spider-Man 3

Awful
11. Superman Returns
12. DareDevil

I have seen the X-Men trilogy but I just don't remember it that well, I honestly don't remember DareDevil as much.
I also haven't seen Green Lantern, Punisher, Hulk, Fantastic Four, Wolverine, Captain America or even The Dark Knight Rises yet.

Went to watch again (finland). They had some problems with ticket pre-ordering setup which over-flooded with too many requests a problem preventing people from receiving their ticket. Somebody else was quick enough to buy mine. Had to wait until the last 15 minutes to negotiate empty seats from unattended reservation. And it appeared to me I wasn't the only one having this problem. It's pretty telling, I think, about just how packed the theater is for the weekend.

I now only hope for a re-edited director's cut! (Something Nolan has never done ;()

Wow theatre was packed at 3pm. Movie was pheominal. Makes me want to play Arkham City.

Get ready for a chilling and emotional ending there too. I wonder if they went with that tone because of Nolan Batman while Arkham Asylum was more of a fun jaunt with not much development.

I hate to say as a huge fan of both the first and second movies, this one didn't do it for me, it was good, but it felt too busy. It felt like the movie went on too long with too much underdeveloped while at the same time clipping through scenes way too fast, it felt like the movie should have either been simplified and more focused or split into 2 movies.

Not a bad movie, but I was hoping it would be nearly as good and it didn't feel as such the first viewing, mind you, I just watched begins and dark knight right before.

you have the two hulks mixed up actually

Great movie. Had a bunch of flaws, but it was a lot of fun. I think it was Solo who said that this movie was the most "comic-book" in the trilogy and he was damn right. Though that was both its strength and weakness to me. Like I said, some sizable flaws (like the goddamn score) but I really, really loved the movie and will watch it again a couple more times to digest.

Well you can't judge from the crowd size.

I went to the largest IMAX screen in the country, here in NYC. And it was packed. Had to go at 10am for the 220pm show. 4 hours early and there was already a line.

When we got out not only was there a line for the next show (615) but a line forming the 1010 show also!

I hope Scullibundo mixed up the two Hulk movies. I pray he did, actually.

Batman is kind of a giant piece of shit to everyone in AC.

Robin: Here to help

Bats : Go fuck yourself

I blame the voice director, or whomever. Justice League Unlimited was just a few years before the Arkham games and Kevin Conroy did amazing Batman performances there. In these games, he's kind of like a mild "All-Star Batman and Robin" Batman... he just doesn't laugh or call people "wads."

Saw it last night at a true Imax, sold out obviously. It was just amazing, I did not like the first 30-40 minutes, but after that it was just incredible. I loved the movie and it kept getting better as it went. The best for last.

The thought that in 5-10 years there will be a reboot upsets me.

As much as I enjoy Nolan's Batman, I'll be ready for something different when it's time. I've always pictured Batman to be a writer's sort of hero. Someone you can really explore in different ways. Batman (and his universe) can really be looked at from so many different angles. I just hope whatever comes next is approached with respect to smart writing and film making.

Anyways, I haven't seen the film yet - going on Monday most likely. It's been kind of confusing to be in this thread and reading all the mixed responses... Needless to say, I'll be going in with very modest expectations.

If WB has learned any lesson, it should be that the audience craves smarter and better superhero movies. Just because they are superhero movies doesn't mean the source material and characters can't be treated with respect and supported with good writing and direction.

So whichever direction they go in with a new cast and crew in a few years, as long as they hold true to those principles we can hopefully expect another good Batman movie(s).

Part of me wishes there was no trilogy, and just Nolan making a Batman movie every few years. But I think Nolan always visioned it as "this is not something a human would do for the rest of his life...be batman...this is only a temporary project" so it can't continue like a new episode every few years.
