I think it would be worth honing your fine art skills, the one thing I find important when assembling a portfolio is the ability to show variety and versatility. Might be something to consider, a good mix of mediums may serve you well especially for a course that deals in different areas of digital art.
Well I was never my THAT good at drawing, what are some ways to get better? I really want to get into this course and I'll do anything.

Oh fuck...
I'm leaving in a bit to go watch Batman with the ex. Guess who's at the cinema watching it right now?...

Not sure how likely is it we'll bump into each other, I think people go out the back after the movie ends though in some theaters you go out the front, where people are usually queuing for the next showing...

Oh well... Hope there's no drama.

Drama is the spice of life.

As lame as it sounds, it really does come down to dedication and practice. Sketch and draw as much as you can, experiment in different mediums and styles, have fun with it. Seek out inspiration anywhere you can find it. I find drawing challenges to be an interesting exercise to undertake from time to time; helps broaden your comfort zone and gets you to draw things you maybe wouldn't normally.

I would also recommend taking life drawing classes if there's any available in your area, getting comfortable with drawing proper human anatomy is an invaluable asset. Similarly, you mentioned that you'd be willing to take an art couse; that'd be a great idea. If there's any kind of art fundamentals course you can take in the meantime that would be very beneficial.

As for getting comfortable with photoshop/html, there is a wealth of online resources out there. I have been visiting PSD Tuts and Net Tuts for years now, and still learning as much as ever!

Hope it helps.

Get a book or two about drawing to learn some of the more technical stuff and then simply draw. Draw, draw and draw. And scribble. ;) There's really no other way to learn and practice drawing.

I also found exercises posted by Davedough in the NeoGAF: Draw better in 45 days challenge thread to be really useful (although I didn't have time back then to went through all of them :().

A "friend" mentioned on Twitter passing a Chik Fil A and the protests making him want to eat it even more. I don't even really like the kid much, but we used to be good friends in HS and he still seems to like me a lot, had me in his wedding and everything. I didn't expect it to bother me much, but it sort of has been all day. I guess it's because I just figured he'd be accepting if I ever felt like telling him.

Got back home from the movies. Thankfully there was no drama, we didn't bump into the guy.

I didn't really LOOOOOOOVE The Dark Knight Rises, but I thought the ending was amazing and also the whole Catwoman-Batman dynamic was really good. Actually Anne Hathaway was the highlight of the film for me (along with the ending, as I said).

I feel the same. I love it but not as much as the dark knight and batman begins but the dark knight rises is a good movie though I did like the avengers more than TDKr

the Robin bit at the end was amazing!!! I was like I KNEW IT!!!! I really thought about it when Batman told him about using a mask. Also the final kiss with Catwoman :'(

I was a retard and didnt see that one coming (robin). I did however know that Miranda was a no-good evil biatch, her placement in the story was just too convenient for her to not be somehow linked to the League of Shadows. I didn't forsee her being the child who escaped but just forsaw her as an villain. I too enjoyed that ending, and whenever cat woman and batman teamed up :)

Im probably one of the few... but TDK is my least favourite in the series. I was exceedingly bored with the Rachel-Dent subplot (especially hated Rachel) and considering it sucked up so much damn time too. And imo Heath Ledger's Joker was overrated... I vastly prefer a funny Joker (his was just a darker psycho). I also didn't feel there was much of a threat to Batman in the form of Joker or Two-Face. Lastly: League of Shadows > Gotham Mobsters

I'm the opposite. I find the League of Shadows really jarring compared to the hyper-realistic world that Nolan creates. Their goals and the way they go about them are far too comic booky for me. Also, from a thematic perspective, the Joker offered a far stronger counter idea to Batman's masked hope.

Not sure if I like the third more than the first though. I would have to see it again, but after leaving TDKR, I really have no inclination to see it any time soon. A first for a Nolan film for me. No wait, I lied - I hated Insomnia more than TDKR.

I don't know, I think he handled the "secret evil organisation" thing well for it to be not too comic booky; its not at all like the evil enterprises of other comic book movies. I like them being Puppet Masters that have their hands in everything, as opposed to the regular old joe schmoe criminal mafia.

Another thing TDK annoyed me with was them cramming the "he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now" down our throats.

The league of shadows, the Joker's plans, the pit, almost everything in Nolan's films is realistic comic book-y. For me, it feels like everything belongs in that world.

I love Nolan. I love all of his films. I'm always excited about what he's doing, but I can't think of his movies as more than entertainment. He isn't subtle. I don't feel like he's trying to tell me something. I don't have much of an emotional response while watching his movies, The Prestige being the only exception. So yep, pure entertainment, and I loved TDKR, maybe a little bit more than TDK and BB, but please don't compare Nolan with brainless, disposable entertainment like The Avengers.

I'm really impressed at the physical transformation that Tom Hardy went through to become Bane. Some of the excercises he endured are really punishing, and anyone who dismisses the effort involved hasn't stepped into a gym once. Whereas Ledger committed mentally to the role of Joker, Hardy equally submersed into it via body.

I am drunk and sad as hell...

I broke with my ex because of distance. today there was a party in my house and a good friend of mine who has been living in a long distance relationship ship for three years was telling me how they had a problem and how they managed to find a solution to their situation.

My relationship didn't survive anything... I feel like such a fucking failure.

I told him " I died inside, or my relationship died but please you try to stay togehter, will you? not every relatuinship has to die" I could barely contain my tears...

Why? Both movies are a different flavor of brainless, disposable entertainment. Avengers are cheesy and deliberately over the top, Nolan's Batman movies tries to be serious and grimdark. However, in both you have to shut your brain off to fully enjoy them, because both have ridiculous plot. If you start to analyze Dark Knight Rises' story, you will end up with lots of plot holes or, at least, lots of coincidences and events that are really hard to explain.

I didn't think The Avengers had much of a punch. It was entertaining but it will be quickly discarded in my mind.

I didn't walk out feeling anything strongly. It was all easily digestible.

I had no problems with it. I wish I did.

I wish there was something in there with a bit of weight.

It was fun.

I won't remember it. I barely remember it.

Sorry to hear that, but don't feel like a failure. Just because they find a solution doesn't mean you could have too. Some relationships end and you have to move on.

I prefer Nolan's work over the Avengers purely because his stuff generally attempts to explore a subject. His movies are by no means perfect, as just about any scene with a cop is atrociously written. I think that's what disappointed me most aboutTDKR was that it was far more plot focused than concept.

My long distance relationship diedafter three years. They are hard and I think they end more often than not. I wouldn't think of yourself as a failure. Lots of us here have gone through similar

As an aside I got a cellphone. Sadly, it's a windows phone so no grindr for me. But I'm new to this app thing. Are there any must haves?
