The op has a valid question
Music on the radio does really suck nowadays
Well especially in NYC
Z100 is pretty much unlistenable now as opposed to 10 years ago
Where exactly does the OP say only the music on the radio sucks these days?

I don't know what you are talking about.

but here's my number
But here's my number
but here's my number
Youtube is doing this as well with the recommended videos. I don't like the whole info juggling they do for privacy reasons but I did find some of my favorite jazz tracks through thatJunk thread. I'm not into music as much as some people I know but finding music is simple using Pandora. It's the easiest way to find artists in a genre you like then from there you can research new artists you haven't heard of before.

I just teared up listening to this with headphones on. It's pretty much damn perfect in every sense of the word musically. What happened? Howd music fall so fast in such a short timespan?

Why's it become some needle in a haystack search instead of something that just should be?

There is so much good music coming out I'm getting stressed out, trying to stay on top of it all..
I couldn't have said it better.Again, it isn't.
You creating this thread takes more effort than finding new music on the internet that isn't top-40.
dunno if I'm getting older or music really sucks shit these days
I rememeber z100 being the bomb back in the 90s even early 2000s
now it's like shit spewing out of the radio and into my ears
If you've gotten older, have a full time job, kids, life basically when do you have time to seek out music? Like many have said it used to just be as simple as turning on the radio. I remember being able to turn on the radio and hop in the car or shower. Why's it become some needle in a haystack search instead of something that just should be?

So funny how the connection continues. And in the majority of similar discussions I had where people say "today's music sucks" they always bring up radio which is becoming outdated.
Gets on my nerves!!! (lol)
I'm sorry but if you have the time to make this thread and respond to posters about your views, you definitely have time to seek out music that you would like.If you've gotten older, have a full time job, kids, life basically when do you have time to seek out music? Opinions happened
But it still goes back to the same question. Why has the radio become the dumping ground for shit? It wasn't always like that.
i would argue that music is better now than ever. there is so much to choose from nowadays so everyone can find their music hence with more people finding music, one can argue that we have a better music situation now.

OP has enough time to make internet threads about music sucking but doesn't have enough time to seek out good music.
The irony of picking a song from the decade of Backstreet Boys, Hanson and Young Black Teenagers is just too much.
The op didn't but I know some the discussion dealt with that andWhere exactly does the OP say only the music on the radio sucks these days?
No that was the beginning of the fall.
It's all about marketing/advertising in terms of songs on the radio.
Record labels started experimenting with how they could market music as being great while reducing production values at the same time.
Fast forward to today, people go crazy and buy music that can be made with computer software that's less than $100.
That's not to say that it's impossible to make music that sounds good on software that is that price, however, record labels realize that they can save money by getting people to believe that music sounds good via images/videos, advertising, and creating fake word of mouth (and by that I mean, "Hey! You aren't in the cool crowd if you don't like this song!").
Why would you even listen to the radio when you could just play mp3s off your phone? Get to listen exactly to what you want, better quality, no ads. I only listen to the radio to listen to NPR, never for music.
What's this? An answer?![]()
This is the good shit:
