Supposedly it can take up to a day or two from running the app to receiving the update. Based on the people who got in the first wave I'd say expect the update tomorrow afternoon/evening at the absolute earliest.

It was never a 'piece of crap' to begin with, and if you think like that.. then nothing will probably satisfy you.
Real answer? Read the thread and do a little research on your own. There are tons of optimized settings, new features, new applications etc.. Its streamlined overall and quick, however I'm not sure what you're criteria is to not be a piece of crap? Its 7 year old hardware that continues to be re-invented and fresh with new software options and support. Thats hardly a piece of crap in my book.

Thanks! Now i just have to wait 1 to 2 Days for the Update.
A whole weekend with the update and I really really like it. The closer perspective is nice and uses a much better portion of the screen. I have already used the pin feature a number of times and the recent button right under it. A couple things have been a little odd with the pins as you can pin everything there including a dlc pack of a game instead of the game. I assume they will fix that sort of thing.
The marketplace is also SOOO much better.
But this is a great step forward. Well done on this one MS.

I'm in, thanks so much for posting this.
Netflix shouldn't be effected. It's a separate app, completely independent to any optimizations done to the dashboard. It's been crap for the longest time anyways, I almost exclusive watch it on my PS3.
