Huh. Well that's a fucking weird choice.
(Marvel NOW! thread was too fucking far down)

If they keep those two thought baloons Way introduced, I'm going to slice someone into pieces.

one is fine. its two thats the problem.

The thought balloons are fine in concept. "Each one represents half of Deadpool's brain" is a neat idea. The execution was flawed because 1. they hardly ever shut up and 2. a lot of the time, they sounded exactly alike despite being different "characters".

Oh, so Daniel Way is responsible for those dual thought balloons that didn't work in DKTMU #1? Why am I not surprised.

Remender needs to teach a class on how to write this character.

Yeah, comics set in NYC are a cliche by now but in that issue the location actually felt tangible, almost as if you were there.

Fraction and BKV both do a wonderful job of capturing what NYC feels like. Smiled when Clint describes what August in NY smells likes.

Yep. In looking at Aja's art, you could totally picture yourself right there as a bystander on the street. Coupled with Clint's description of a summer day in NYC, it brought me back to when I visited around that time a few years ago - perfectly captured right there.

Seeing as how they're using the thought balloons in the Deadpool game they're probably going to be in the new series.

He and Joe Kelly should teach a 'Deadpool 101' class.

Most of the Marvel NY books are quality. ASM, AvSM, Punisher, DD, Venom, and Hawkeye (so far) are great. Wacker does a great job lining up creative teams.

So I just finished up the first volume of Fables and holy freakin crap, why didn't I pick this up years ago!?

I am absolutely loving seeing some of my favorite childhood stories and characters brought to light in a different manner, and the modern day take is sitting really well with me. Is the series this good all the way through? I know there's about 119 issues total so far.

I'm really liking my Irredeemable purchase so far, flying through it on my touchpad through comixology, up to issue #15. It did take a bit of a flow turn at issue 9 on, but i'm still going from issue to issue wondering what will happen. No regrets so far.

I thought volume one was the weakest of the early volumes, imo it gets A LOT better and for a long time, up until issue 80 or so. Then it takes a bit of a dip, goes through a crossover with Jack of Fables that can be skipped if it doesn't look appealing, and then it starts to get better again and i'm liking the current issues. It does feel like it has gone on too long, somewhat like walking dead but not as bad.

A regular game of " am i keeping this or returning this?"

Hawkeye...

I can't imagine this book not being boring at some point even though I thought it was a strong first issue.

For the record, I absolutely hate the construction S'okay or S'whatever. Like nails on a chalkboard.

Saw that at the LCS. It's like...Uh...yeah...I love you but...no.

So glad I have the 3 oversized hardcover volumes. That thing is just like..."How do I read you, baby?"

Gently and with appreciation. My biggest problem with large collections are the pages sagging when on a bookcase. I started putting paper under the book to prop the pages up a little, but it's a problem.

Example: Wolverine Omnibus

Ugh, no thanks. Also, literally every Quitely cover is amazing, but how do you not make the most iconic Marvel cover in history the cover of that book?

VIIIIIGHT???

my only problem with Hawkeye is how shitty the paper of the comic seems to be. Real thin. Whack.

It's real good for like the first 10 or 11 trades. When the first BIG arc ends, I'd stop reading. It's not terrible or anything, just drags on. Totally worth reading the first BIG arc, though.

I canceled my Invisbles pre-order at amazon since CGN is having it cheaper....and i really really really want to see pictures of the book before buying to know what kind of binding DC is using.

Also, for New X-Men, i DO have the full set of Ultimate Collection TPBs, even though it's not oversized, it's easier to read than a massive omnibus so if i return the omni it's not like i'll have nothinggggggggggg.

I drew a thing

so... person on the left I'm not too sure about, babs, Dick, Selina, Jase, MF Bruce Wayne, Alfie, Damien down below, Tim, Steph and Cass?

fake edit:
Oh wait.. , they're probably not blond, is the first on the left Kate? Nice work btw!

I sold my omnibus copy for absurd amounts of booze money and picked these up on the cheap. No regrets.

What am I looking at? Is it a new whiz-bang super-awesome hardback ultimate edition or something?

Omnibus collecting everrrrrrrrrrrrything, questionable binding until we see pics ( maybe another glued and sewn combo seen in the newest new teen titans volume. Comes out this month.

Who the fuck wants a millar or loeb written deadpool series? Its a good thing he's getting out of the biz.

We should be so lucky. All we know is that he's going to drop his DC work sometime in 2013. We all know he'll end up doing stuff at Image.

nice wayne family ink. im assuming the dude with the streak is jason?

You got it! It'll probably be more obvious when I colour it, but I needed to take a break for a bit.

Deadpool is a postmodern satire of the character Rob Liefeld thinks he created.

What a sad little man. He doesn't even get his own character.

Rob is mad that Deadpool is treated as comedy-style character, which is funny, considering that's the only reason the character is popular. :p

Edit: ^^I never did like those big yellow X's.
