The Necromancer doesn't seem to get spoken about much, think it would be a good co-op companion to play with an Elementalist?

2 clothies, so quite squishy, but I guess it should be a good combo?

The Necromancer isn't really squishy, and Elementalists have a pretty good selection of defensive skills. I think the Warrior would be a fine companion for the Elementalist, simply because he has a large number of finishers that will trigger the Elementalist's combo fields.

From what i have read, the necro is anything but squishy.

**Edit, late. Just noticed the trend.

Ooops my bad, just going off my WoW days and experience from characters wearing cloth. Sounds like a good choice to co-op with my GF then so we can both experience magic.

I know I'm beaten, but Necros who use Death Shroud effectively are one of the least squishy things I've ever encountered. They are absolutely the ultimate "bet you thought you were about to kill me, didn't you fucker" class.

If you are going to level together, you might also want to check out cross-profession combos. I think it would be pretty fun to find two classes with good combo synergy and go to town. Of course, elementalist has great synergy with pretty much anyone since they can drop a ton of fields. the problem is is that i dont know if necro has a whole lot of finishers to take advantage of those fields.

I think it would make the gameplay a bit more interesting for you guys

And when you finally get them down, the fuckers FEAR you. God, that is so annoying. Least its not as annoying as the teleporting corpse THF

also I think they slightly tweaked Death Shroud so that the bar depletes slower than it used to in BWE3. Might be just my imagination though, I only used it like twice in this stress test.

Necrotic Grasp, the auto-attack for Staff necros, has a 20% chance to be a projectile finisher. Could probably wreak havoc with all the ele fields.

the damage of that skill isn't that great though (in my experience), I mostly just use it to quickly fill up the Death Shroud bar again. Then again, nothing compares to the scepter auto-attack, damage-wise.

It seemed slower to me as well.

Yeah, but it's the auto attack- it's what you're using when you aren't doing other things that are better, and 1 out of every 5 shots could burn, chill, stun, etc. just with those two professions having fun.

Id rather have a blast, whirl or leap finisher since those are automatic combos. Plus, staff is a weird weapon, and one that i would never use since its pretty much all ground targeting

As would anyone. Putrid mark with the staff is one (another point in favor of staff for this config), and there are some utility skills.

edit: Well, it's not for you (or me) by any means, but maybe for Audioboxer and his buddy.

I felt so cool today while playing in the Stress Test for a couple of hours. I was in the Sylvari area and this character just stopped and said hi, and then I said hello, and they that person said that he/she (fem avatar but who knows) said that they read this thread all the time, and enjoys reading everything we talk about.

He/she never told me if they had an account or maybe I missed it because I was trying to meet up with my brother in game to quest, but anyway it was just awesome being recognized in game because of this thread.

I think one of the problems is that they choose stupid colors

Most of them are default colors actually, in most cases they didn't have access to the actual armor so they couldn't even be dyed. The base color is always like greyish/light brown or something like that.

cool weapons, but that's seriously some of the worst armour set design I've ever seen in an MMO

Some of them. I only wish videogame developers realized spikes look like shit on any armor design. I also disliked most of the rifles in there. Will do my best to avoid getting those.

I didn't get to play much of beta but when I did it was mostly elementalist, are engineers good? What do they excel at? Having a hard time choosing which one I will roll first. I just want the class with great damage and high mobility.

You mean like this from GW1?! Yeah, I'm not a fan of armors like this either.

[insert innuendo here]

The animation on this one must look ridiculous.

I discovered this while playing. The animations aren't that noticeable. The flame turret one is sort of like the Pistol off-hand flame attack, but at a lower height. The rifle turret one sounds/feels like a bullet dart firing out.

There's a southwestern borough with discarded asuran tech as well. Didn't get any screenshots of it though.

You can make your armor look like literally anything you want, so it really doesn't hurt anything for them to go crazy with the armor set design.

I actually like most of the armor designs and there's quite a range. And as much as I usually favor the heavy-armor sets, some of those leather sets look amazing.

I really hope the asura get more face templates, and especially hair templates by launch. There really is only a few good hair options for asura

Agreed, I was rather disappointed with the character creation for the Asura especially compared to something like the Sylvari. I still managed to create an awesome Asura, but they could do with more hair options.

They especially need a lot of hair optiosn for the asura since anything but black/grey/white hair on an Asura just looks wrong

So i havent played it since the very first beta weekend, did they improve the performance?

It was a little stuttery in general and pretty laggy in the cities, but i dont know if that was server lag

Guys, guys,.. either post MORE pictures that I can distract myself from studying with or...or... just anything, really. :'( Stupid stress tests have to be during working hours, I can't wait another 3 weeks for this. It's just not fair.

Of every class I've played (Guardian, Engineer, Mesmer, Elementalist, Ranger, and Necromancer), Necromancer is the only one I didn't have fun with.

I enjoyed it once I started focusing on minions and life leech. I first tried conditions, but pretty lame looking spells that give mobs conditions wasnt all that fun for me
