The Giant Bomb Quick Look Thread 2

Yeah I'd imagine you wouldn't know who Neku is if you hadn't played or heard of The World Ends With You.

I don't know about the insignificant Disney and Square portion, the game starts you off with fighting Ursula and then you meet Neku who you're chasing.then its all Disney worlds from here.

The first world is not even that long, maybe he should have played a bit more because right after it opens up to Notre dame, pinnochio and tron legacy. Like right after that cut scene.

Ryan figures it out when he sees him but for most of the quick look they were acting like he was a kh character.

Also that keyblade on the map just shows where you came out from.

they, hate it... as expected

It makes me wonder if there's an alternate Giant Bomb somewhere out there where versions of Brad, Jeff and Ryan go in to playing games like TrackMania, Starcraft 2, Mortal Kombat, etc. with a whole lot of negative assumptions and no real interest in learning, and then predictably trash them.

If, in this parallel world, the fans of those games are absolutely insufferable, then probably.

And Patrick writes blog posts titled "Why fanservice is misunderstood and what gamers can do to appreciate it"

And Drew has a visual novels club :P

Looks like what I'd expected it to look like. Traverse Town again, huh?

Sorta solidified me not getting it until it's much cheaper. It wasn't how they did the QL because we all knew they weren't going to dig it, but moreso how it seems to play. Seemed to have cut out a lot of what made BbS a decently-fun game.

This would be the greatest.

The little of what we heard of the dialogue made the writing and plot sound atrocious and their main complaint was not being able to get into the story/characters. I'm not sure why people are complaining about the negativity, it's clearly not a product designed for grown men/people who aren't long standing fans of the series.

As someone who enjoyed TWEWY on release I can't say I was all that enthralled with seeing the characters from the game in there. It's a title that really doesn't send itself well to a fanservice KH tie-in given the themes and character progression/development in the game and the conclusion it all led to.

KH does actually get rather dark in places.

Super fans of anything are always insufferable.

I do hope KH 3 gets made eventually, maybe for the 720 and PS4, because I liked KH 2 but I don't have any interest in playing the handheld versions.

Someone over there needs to compile a similar list of Deadly Premonition scenes and moments they missed. Watching SGF's full run of that game was mindblowing, the game was suddenly 90% bigger.
i understand why they sort of main-lined the story (unless they didn't realize just how big the game actually is) but yeah they missed a LOT of amazing stuff.

especially the RADIO.

I think Brad should've waited 'til he got to Tron Legacy world before he did the Quick Look, 'cause at least that's something they'd be interested in... and also that's the only thing I'm interested in when it comes to the new Kingdom Hearts game!

Tron was pretty good in KH 2. Dat Bruce Boxleitner VA.

hahaha, finally watched it. loved how Vinny was obsessed with beating Mo.
The game looked like the Burly Brawl in Matrix Reloaded at times. Just pure insanity. I wonder if the animation looks smoother at 60fps though. It was a little on the choppy side.

With the P3 chars involved and the potential of the story stuff in this actually leading into P5, why would Persona fans skip out on P4A?

You should've been following the threads, ignorance isn't an excuse! ;P

How does a a game that merges P4 with P3 characters in a fighting game lead to P5? Did I miss some sort confirmation that old characters would return in P5?

or pitched up his voice.. or something.. actually making the character a bit older would help, i think enough iterations have come out at this point

The character has gotten a bit older. It's just because this is all in a dream world the main guys are at their KH1 age for some unexplained reason but keep their current age voices.

I completely get Ryan and Brad not feeling the game, at this point KH games really are made for KH fans. If you've not played a KH game before and go into 3D you will be hella lost with the story even with the story dumps of previous games you get as you go through the game. It's a good game though, just hard to get into because of the insane story that needs you to know about a billion previous games to understand everything.
