I only have my AV Famicom plugged into my TV and it's concealed within a cabinet. The games are stored in a chest with the only other systems I (currently) play being handhelds.

Here are some phone camera pictures of my messy apartment and thoroughly boring setup. I don't even know why I'm here. :(
TdyTP.jpg

A little bit late, but from the zoomed-out version of the picture, it really looks like the speaker on the left and the black part of your CPU case are attached, which makes it look like your speaker is both in front of and beside the case. Kind of an optical illusion.

Does anyone else see it?

Can you upload/link that wallpaper? :)

Not my picture or anything, but a quick reverse google image search gave me:

Here's a blast from the past- here's my sick as hell dorm room setup from ~2004. Rolling with the OG Xbox and a 27 inch Panasonic TV. My roommate had impeccable taste in decorating the wall. That Xbox was the source of many late night Halo marathons.

Here's my current big-boy setup:
42'' Sharp Aquous
Xbox 360
Onkyo receiver
Sony subwoofer
Klipsch 5.1 surround speakers
DVD player

Where'd you get the awesome piece of furniture to put the TV on?

I dig it.

How do those Razer headphones sound? I've wanted to pick a pair of those up.

To me, the Razer Orca sounds great in games and music. Its also lightweight and the earcups are soft. They're comfy even on long gaming sessions. On the downside, its not noise isolating. My desk is next to a window so if its raining outside I can hear it in the background. I also stopped wearing this headphone in public because people are always looking at me because of its color.

Of course it doesn't compare to high end audiophile headphones like the AKGs and Audio Technicas. But for $60, I can say you get what you pay for.

Be careful getting headsets like this, they are tough to recommend with a straight face because of the low build and audio quality.

In that price range you can look at superlux, grado, jvc, and sony. All make great phones for around that price range.

It really depends on what type of music you listen to, whether you mind sound leakage, and if you need these primarily for gaming (ie sound positioning in fps games). All of these phones are in that price range, and would be considerably better.

I've lost hours of my life to this thread. I'm glad to see there are other 'neat freak' gamers out there besides me. I don't mind a tad of clutter in my home, but not near my gaming area.

Taking some pics before I move this week, just to show what I have (plus my room is a mess so I didn't want to show all the posters in tubes and boxes)

My modest setup.

Toshiba 50" DLP
Polk CS1 center speaker (2x 5.25" drivers and a 1" dome tweeter
4x Polk Monitor 60s (3x 5.25" drivers and a 1" dome tweeter each)
2 basic satellite speakers for rear backs
10" Subwoofer
Onkyo 605 HDMI receiver
Sony BDP S580 Blu Ray Player
Full Tower PC (i7 920 4Ghz, 8GB RAM, GTX 560 Ti)
Wii

I say modest because almost all of the parts are used, open box or discounted. I don't have much of a budget for this stuff. I'd like to eventually replace my satelites with matching Polk Monitor 40 Bookshelf speakers but have a hard time justifying it when so few games and Blu-Rays are 7.1

I agree entirely. No disrespect intended to anybody who has posted their pics here but his thread has hit home that I can't buy anything in the future if it doesn't fit in a chest or cabinet and will clutter. I type this while contemplating a Sharp Famicom Twin:/

My wife and I bought a condo in Chicago's West Loop and so we decided to simplify our "things". I sold my Wii, DS, 3DS and DTS 5.1 system. All I've got now is my Sharp Aquos, a PS3 and sound bar with subwoofer for my gaming and Netflix streaming.

I do still have a laptop that I play SWTOR whilst sitting at this table. Please not the double-sided tape on the back of the couch to keep my crazy cat from shredding this one like she did the last.

Beautiful apartment and great view. I love the olive color of your walls.

Thanks, it's slightly lighter in real life than the pictures. A lot of "experts" always say to go with light neutrals on walls as well, but I think the slightly darker green goes with the all the light we get from the windows.

Love the full height windows. Also focusing down to one system is a great idea, not sure I could do it myself though.

Yeah, it has been a challenge, especially because I played my DS and 3DS more than any other system. However, we watch a lot of blu-rays and Netflix and it made sense to keep the PS3. I have found myself reading more, working on my photography, learning Spanish, etc. when my wife is watching TV. The fact that Playstation Plus members got all those free games this year has also helped cut my gaming budget to almost 0.

PC
qPXXJl.jpg

anything older than Saturn has been put away as well as any of my big box pc games from the 90's.

There's something about a shelf full of PC game boxes that makes me feel all warm inside. And I say that as someone who doesn't have a shelf full of PC game boxes.

I've been wanting to post in this thread for some time, but I just haven't had an opportunity lately to take pictures and write up a mega post. With the wife, my daughter, and the dog out of the house for the evening, and a beer in my hand, I figured it's time to get down to business.

So, we live in a pretty small townhouse, so space is very tight. Luckily, my wife has been really cool with me turning the small loft area into my game room / office. We keep the 360 downstairs on our main TV for Netflix, Kinect, HBO Go, Rockband, etc, but everything else is crammed into my game room area.

So here's our main living room, nothing too special here, outside of the ottoman opens up, and has a ton of room for controllers and such.

Going upstairs, here's my game room from the hallway area:

First off, is my RockBand storage container-thingy. This thing not only stores a whole RockBand setup, but a few arcade sticks, a Wii Fit board, and all sorts of other stuff:

My pride, and joy of course is my 2-slot MVS in immaculate condition. At the moment, I think I have the Last Blade and KOF 96 loaded in there. I would really like to mount some cup holders to the side, so if anyone has some suggestions on where to order them from, I'd love to hear it:

Going around the room, are my game shelves, and I won't bore you with taking a shot-by-shot of every shelf. Atop them though, I have some pretty fun stuff:

Moving along, here is my computer and TV area. Since space was tight I opted for that Playstation branded 3D monitor, which has my PS3 and Wii connected to it. I know that it was poorly received, but I've really been enjoying it. Child of Eden in 3D is pretty amazing.

And probably my favorite figure of all time... "The Crucifiction of Ultraman"!

5NUDfl.jpg

To end, almost every episode of "Cribs" featured some douchebag rapper showing off his Scarface poster. I can do him one better, a Scarface poster autographed by the entire cast and crew:

PKv0yl.jpg

Well, I think that about wraps it up. My wife and I are hoping to move into a bigger place soon, so hopefully I'll have a whole basement to store this stuff. Most of my older gen consoles and games are stuck in the crawl space for the moment, so it would be nice to give them a bit of room to breathe. Anyhow, I'm glad to finally be a part of "Hoarders: NeoGAF Edition", and I think I'll cry when digital distribution becomes a reality.

damn, nice setup man!

where'd you get the 8-bit zelda statues & Sega sign in the other pic?

I bought those 8-Bit Zelda statues at a store in Japan. They're not Legos, but actually little pegs that you put in a board. The instructions come with all sorts of patterns for classic Mario and Zelda sprites.

As for the Sega sign... my sister worked at a Funcoland in the late 90s, early 00s. During their transition to becoming a Gamestop, I took the Sega sign off the wall. I have a ton of Dreamcast swag that would blow your mind, but unfortunately it's stored away at the moment.
