Fanatiq just doesn't like Persona because he will never be good enough at it to take people's money. #Kappa
The problem with Persona in the US is that the IP might as well not even exist. It's a well-made niche anime game that will get some traction, but it's never going to break out because it can't attract that casual players that SF/Marvel can to blow up the #s.
Mark my word it will fail. You can take that to the bank.
Isn't BBCS2 among the top 10 arcade fighting games in Japan ATM?
EDIT: Some TTT2 matches-

Looks like SEGA is fixing the lobbies in FS wiith a patch coming out tomorrow, and a minor training mode fix.
Unsure if they're doing anything else of note.

Saw the top 4 AE for SBO. Fuudo got balls deep in some ass.
Won't be able to pick up the game until Friday, but I'm really looking forward to P4A...especially since I recently finished P3P.
Mitsuru all day err'day.
So when is the 360 version of Persona gonna have godlike netcode?
If it ain't a Capcom game...

It already outsold all of your other fighting games in japan in I believe it was the last five years.
It is a fantastic game, and everything about it is well done.
Strange that it is only the american fgc that is so close minded and slavish to one game or two maybe,
If many american fgc players had their way it would be marvel anytime all of the time. (Because they can consistently win that one)
Or because the games you're referring to are all "Anime-style", which immediately limits the audience for the game because of differences in cultural aesthetics. It already outsold all of your other fighting games in japan in I believe it was the last five years.

so LI Joe thinks Persona is going to stay at 2 months top. Fanatiq won't play P4A because he thinks nobody is going to play it and therefore no money.
They also both said other people in other community won't play and join the persona community.
Interesting to say the least
It's probably been up one of the top ten arcade fighters since the series came out back in the CT days. CS actually sold more than CT did on consoles if you go by the media create numbers so the arcade scene was surely at least stable if it didn't grow. It's probably lower on the totem pole since Extend.Isn't BBCS2 among the top 10 arcade fighting games in Japan ATM?
Given the sales in Japan, it absolutely deserves a slot, imo, as long as it just doesn't completely die off outside of Japan (and I think that's unlikely.)Not really. I would bet it that Persona makes Evo.
People severely overestimate the effect that "pro player " opinions have on whether or not people pick up the games. I remember Justin and Yipes saying they would play Skullgirls, and i remember Flash Metroid and Mike Ross claiming SF X T was the best fightring game released in over 10 years.
yeah. Howd that work out?
Oh and dont forget Sanford Kelly claiming MVC3 was ass because women could win in that game, and Justin Wong hating MVC3 because Floe was using Sentinel and beating him consistantly.
I play competitive M:TG, which has events nationwide on a weekly basis. I don't invest time in the WoW TCG for exactly this reason- I don't have the time/resources to play a second game with less resources.the Pro players usually don't play non-capcom games because the scene tends to be immensely smaller than a capcom scene, thus less competition and less money.

It's all about aesthetics and what people like. P4 could be the greatest fighter in history, but if people think the characters are ass / dumb, it'll fail.
The trick is to make characters people like / game that's appealing and then hook them with the quality gameplay.

Poor Anime...Busted Mike Ross's balls about Skullgirls today. He said he was going to pass on it. I asked why. He said it was because of the art style, that it was too anime. I told him to stop being a bitch and at least try the demo. He wasn't even aware there was one. I told him there was, so it's no-risk for him to at least try it out, and that he'd really like the grappler the demo offers. He then replied with "well, I'll probably play it if a lot of people play it too."
I clapped my hand down on his shoulder and said "Dude, you're Mike Fucking Ross. People will play the game just because you do."
"That's... a good point."
"It is, and now your excuse is invalid. Play the damn demo already."
"Yeah, I'll give it a try!"
"Damn skippy you will. You're welcome in advance."

Rare footage of Fuudo dropping his combo!
Poor Anime...
Didn't go anywhere even when Mike personally asked Mike(INCEPTION) either.
I also think some people like to be in the spotlight of winning. When Jwong/Ricky was playing T6 when it was out they were getting some wins here and there, but once they played anyone good they got put in the garbage, and they dropped the game once the average person was beating them.
Jeez, how does a game inspired by American cartoons get accused of being Anime? Daaang.
