...and I've personally attacked someone where?

Hey! When you can't prove someone wrong (and no one "wins" a debate like this) you call them a troll. Look who's wearing his big boy pants today. PEACE.
Troll - to ignore all arguments against your opinion as if they never have and never will exist, claim victory without actually addressing holes in your argument, enrage people into engaging with you & subsequently dismiss them, and generally not act like a real person who could exist in real life without tripping on his shoe laces every two steps.

It's cool to not admit you're an act, but I find it only fair to tell other people so the thread can someday move past Skylar one-sided discussions.

witness protection. That's what it's there for! Walt gets arrested, she flees to an unknown location, new start. All I'm saying is there are BETTER options. There always was for her.

How about when they find out she's part of the business?

You know, the ironic thing about Hank's promotion is that in order for him to keep it and continue advancing The Mystery of the Blue Crystal must never be solved. Ever. Merkert was phased out in large part due to a loose friendship with Fring, and to say that Hank's relationship with Walt, on paper at least, is far far more precarious would be an understatement. Outside looking in the argument might even be made that Hank was playing both sides. At the very least Heisenberg gets popped Hank career is very likely ruined. Like Skyler, he's sorta kinda held hostage by association.

I honestly don't think Hank cares anymore. He wa always fixated on solving the case, even when crippled.

It'd be nice if we could get that linkage chart Hank created with the pictures of all the suspects linked together with yarn.

How about constantly lying to her? How about the fugue state disappearance? How about letting her in the business by misleading her? His secrecy? Walt does what he does to get what he wants, but also wants his family to not react to anything. It's an insane mentality that has worked since Skyler is now trapped.

You even admit it yourself and don't realize it. Skyler was a sympathetic figure early in the show. When she kicked Walt out, I didn't like her, but I sympathized with her situation. However, you kind of lose the right to sympathy once you bypass the easy exit and voluntarily get your hands dirty. Once she got involved, of her own volition, she lost her innocence. No sympathy for the devil. Her crime may not be as big as Walt's but that's just moral relativism. Sympathizing with one character over another because they are the lesser of two evils ignores the fact that they're both evil.

I'm not saying one person is better than the other. I have my personal preference, but I'm not gonna try and paint them as a victim when they're not. That's what the big fuss is about with Skyler. She's not blameless. Her being trapped is a direct consequence of her own actions. Motives be damned. No one is forgiving Walt for getting into the drug game just because he had some motives some of us may sympathize with. He did the wrong thing and will pay for it. Skyler did the wrong thing, and unfortunately, got herself boxed-in. PEACE.

Illiterate and clueless - You.

Who've I ignored again? Oh wait...I should go back and re-read the whole thread, right? Pfft.

I replied to a post and engaged in discussion from that point. I've addressed all points raised, and done so without resorting to call anyone a troll or any other name.

You, OTOH, call me a troll with no goading. Maybe I "enraged you to engage", but maybe you're just an angry piece of shit who felt like venting and got called out for it. I fail to see how a collection of words enrages one, but maybe you can enlighten me.

If I'm an act, I'm one of the longest-running and most-successful on GAF, then. I would pat myself on the back, but like just about everything else you said, this is no doubt completely wrong. Put me on ignore if I angry you up so much. I don't remember finding anything you said before interesting enough to respond to, so why do you feel the need to reply to me? PEACE.

She got into it for different reasons though. Holy shit. SHE WAS TRICKED, MANIPULATED.
Walt kept giving her hope he was gonna stop. He didn't. He got worse after killing Gus. Skyler now knows 1) he's a murderer and 2) he's not gonna stop.

Derp. Acting like only one person in the relationship is doing the manipulating is missing the point. Just because Walt plays the game better, doesn't mean Skyler is innocent.

My mind boggles at how anyone paints her as a victim. Is it just because she's a woman? What...women can't make bad decisions they need to be held accountable for? PEACE.

The car wash was not manipulation, it was a better way to launder money, the cash to beneke was to prevent HIS fuckups from coming to light, the echenezna, was for HIS cough, the veggie bacon was for HIS cholesterol, Teds cock was for her seperated clit, I guess you can call her not sending him straight to jail as manipulating him into making more money so that she can drink $200 champagne....no that's not right, maybe she just wants a badass muscle car....nope, she manipulated him into selling meth so that she could take the blame for being bitch and not expose Jr to the truth....hrrmm

Remind me of her bad decisions?

Can someone link me to those Breaking Bad shorts on youtube that are cartoon episodes? Less than a minute long each, has walt jesse talking on the phone?

Walt was going to stop. Do you remember why he lost his shit in the crawl space? Skyler gave $600k to Ted to cover her own ass, the $600k Walt was going to use to buy them new identities and get them the hell out of town. He killed Gus because that option was removed from the table.

Do you people not realize that if the IRS goes after Beneke, they are going to go after Skysky, and then they are 100% going to look into Walt?

Yeah he was gonna stop when his life was hanging by a thread, and finally acknowledged Gus had him cornered. Once he masterfully killed him though, all that ego came rushing back up again, and is trying his luck once more.

Totally, remeber how Walt called the cleaner before he knew about the money?

Me neither.

Well, that's irrelevant. Walt wanted to make sure he had enough money before he did something drastic. I'm just saying the whole cleaner escape route was only considered when he was about to die, and not when he had a slight speck of hope to survive.

Wait... what if Walt just says fuck it and gets himself a new identity this season? Leaves everyone else behind? I don't think he could but who knows? Didn't his license in the diner have some New England address on it? Maybe he got a new identity but someone found him?

You're right. Absolutely right. I just contend he would have quit then if the money was there. It was probably the only time he would have.

Possibly. If that happens, then his family is for sure dead or gone permanently from his life.

im pretty sure he got the ID because either he kills somebody or rats people out.

There will obviously be some sort of big time jump. I'm guessing Walt gets his whole family new identities, but then goes back to finish something. Or Skyler takes the money and runs and Walt does the same but on his own, and then goes back for whatever reason.

Who knows why the time jump happens, what happens during the time jump, and so on.

Well you initially said he was going to stop cooking, as if he deliberately had it all planned out to escape via that option (which he didn't even remember until those last desperate hours.) Trust me, if Walt escaped with his family, he'd still try to find a way to cook from where he was.

Which would've been impossible since they'd be who knows where with new identities.
If only Walt was open and honest with this woman he loves so much this would have never happened.

I can admit Skylar did what she had to do without telling him, but she had no grasp at all of how deep into shit Walt was because he kept it to himself. As far as she knew, he was an employee who could keep going on til he died naturally.

Didn't Saul basically tell him "When you call be sure you have the money because he starts right then?" or something to that effect?
OK fine, Skysky is a total asshole for using drug money to prevent Walt from getting caught, and not using it for cleaning escapades that were a result of Walt puffing his chest and trying to mindgame Gus out killing Hank for investigating Walt and Gus.

What a bitch Skysky is.

Yes, /geekmode.

'You need your family ready and packed to go before you make the call. But you need the money. He doesn't move a finger untill you pay him in full.'

Followed by the classic 'Can't say it has been a pleasure Walt'!

Pretty sure that is it! I watched this show too much convincing others to watch it and then watch with them. :(

can someone summarize what exactly is going on in this thread

Madness.

Why didn't she immediately go to the IRS when she found out Ted was cooking the books? Why would they have looked into her and Walt if she was the whistleblower?

I was simply clarifying possible reasons for him to check that he still had the money first before calling, as that is what you asked about. People had been in his home before, maybe he figured they could have broken in again and found it and taken it. I wasn't getting in on the whole Skylar thing... in fact:

Haha, thank you. I rewatched the first four seasons not long ago myself. I got cable TV hooked up again last week and got caught up on the fifth season that same night, via On Demand. I can't get enough of it. I sorta feel like watching the first seasons again.

Is there any other show that can go from four adults at a boring birthday party to OH MY GOD SKYLAR HAS SEEN INTO THE DARKEST CORNERS OF THE UNIVERSE THROUGH THE POOL?

She was trying to help Ted as a friend, because he helped her out by giving her a job when she needed to provide for her family?

Total asshole shit right? Not at all like Walt mindfucking Jesse.

I'm really pissed at Walt. I'm sure he probably gets more selfish and jerkassish on the way to season five... Everyone sacrifices everything for him but it's never enough.

Makes me mad, yo.

I actually think that was one of Skyler's "bad" moments, because she was so moral towards Walt, but accepted to cook Ted's books. She grew from there though, and didn't deteriorate like Walt.

The first season is pretty fun to rewatch (again!) just to see how it all began. Plus it has so many hilarious Walt/Jesse moments that never really happened anymore after the first season. (Sure, some, but not many!)

This show has really grown into something completely different while not losing any of it's quality. Heck, it only got better. Pretty amazing when you think about it.

YEAH MR WHITE. YEAH SCIENCE.

YOU AIN'T SEEIN' THE BASEMENT, BITCH.

Also... I wonder if someone with a little more time and patience than I have right now could cook up some relatively okay-sounding hidden meaning regarding the 50, 51, and 52 being Walter's ages and relating it to the United States being 50 states and that whole 51 state thing that people talk about with Puerto Rico or anywhere else. And use that to say that expansion of the US is gonna lead to disaster and so on. And actually get people to believe it. The Illuminati made Breaking Bad. Game over.

I do not believe that. I just wonder what it is possible to make others believe and how much effort it would take. I swear I did not have any blue glass before thinking up that ridiculous scheme.

Skylar has definitely done some questionable shit, I just can't see how people can seriously even begin to compare her with the piece of shit that is Walt.
