Everyone should watch WoDOTA DOTA2 Vol. 5, entry #1 to find out why Invoker is a "ban him or pick him" hero and what you should be aiming for if you want to play Invoker to his full potential.

Been on a string of losses today, mostly due to shitty teammates. Last game was single draft, decent one for me as Bloodseeker, but an AM fed like crazy going 1/9, and a Spirit Breaker was pretty bad too. If we didn't have to deal with that I probably could have carried the team to victory, as I was outfarming everyone else in CS.

Wow, he used every spell in his arsenal, some multiple times across the fight. Do you need an Agahnim's to switch that fast?
Yeah, Aghanims brings it down from 5 seconds to 2 seconds on Invoke, so he basically has his entire arsenal over the course of a fight.

The weird thing about Grimorum is that he's a very average player. He only plays Invoker, to the point where he'll abandon games if you pick Invoker before him. Does fine in the laning stage but his map awareness and teamplay is fairly weak. Used to play Dota 1 with the guy here and there, a few 1v1s too while he was practicing different matchups. 1.09 stomped him with Ancient Apparition several times, me with Batrider.

Not to take away anything from his Invoker play in those videos though. It's damn good.

I've dropped 3 below .500 and Im fed up of people screaming at each other when the slightest thing goes wrong for the whole match.

Im not super great or anything I have around 60 games but I almost always solo queue. I would love to tag along with some of you people if at all possible. I'll be a ward/courier bitch.

This amuses me greatly for some reason.

Razer Deathadder, never got a better mouse.

Check out Logitech, Steelseries, Zowie evo, Corsair M60, and the Deathadder as well. All of these have at least decent build quality and good sensors. Find one that will fit your hand, and grip style best.

Stay away from the rest of the Razer line besides DA since they use the shitty PTE sensor, which has a high failure rate, and that legendary Razer build quality ;).

Thanks guys. Razer DA looks really good and doesn't break the bank as well, although I'll be sure to try it out to see if it fits my hand/grip style. Grief, any specific Steelseries models as I've heard good things about them too?

Dat Lion escape

Damn, how does one even have to nerve to do all that? Windrunner and Lion just skirting in and around the trees, in particular. Seriously, holy crap.

I...what?

seems like such an imbalanced hero. I'm guessing very few people can play Invoker to this level?

First Dazzle item, Urn of Shadows. Must buy! Now I only need Medalion for him, and I'm stacked.

Man, I had a crazy game. I randomed Beastmaster, who I've only played once. Needless to say, I pretty much sucked with him and by 30 minutes they were already hitting our middle barracks. We lost both our mid and bottom barracks throughout the match, our middle towers defending the ancient, and they still had t2 towers. The first time they made a big push to close out the game, we totally wiped the floor with them. They do it a few more times, and we manage to either come out even or on top in team fights. Near the end of the game, our Drow gets caught in the middle and is killed, so we have to do a 4v5 teamfight, but manage to pull it off (although their Clinkz escapes). Bounty and I push through mid, destroy their T1 tower, barracks, mid towers, and get to the ancient right as they are respawning. By the time they get to us, it's too late as there is a mass of creeps there and they finish off the ancient. It just goes to show that you are never out of the game if you use teamwork/get lucky/have the better players on your team carry you to victory.

So stupid question, but I'm not gonna take the time to test it myself. If you random, I know you get the extra gold, but what amount do you end up with if you random, and then repick something else? Random then reroll random?

Really isn't that impressive. He does the same exact Cyclone -> Meteor -> Deafening -> Ice Wall -> Cold Snap -> Alacrity -> Sun strike every time. It's just a matter to muscle memory, similar to a combo in fighters but easier in that he just needs to press the buttons as fast as he can. All it takes is practice that most people don't have the drive, patience, or time for.

couldn't Silencer just shut down invoker.

Kinda. Thing is if he's exort, he just cold snap -> right clicks you with forge spirits and you are one sad Silencer. And he has such huge range that a lot of his spells will be outside of Silencer's aura. Pugna does a better job against a spell-heavy Invoker.

Early ganks in general do a lot better against Invoker. Not much he has to stop those.

I played Clockwerk against bots last night, and my first big item was a radiance, man that was so much fun. I think I went 31-1 in the end. Shame he can never really get a radiance in real games unless it goes really late and people let him live or something.

Is he ever picked in a pro game? I've been watching pro games for like a year or something but don't remember him ever being picked.

He used to be picked a LOT for his global ganking presence. Was pushed out of the way when people stopped soloing mid with him and forced him into the hard lane, where he couldn't get any farm, so he would fail midgame. I still think he's a great hero though.

Why do they have to do anything? Just leave it.

They can't...?? It's not their model, it's Aion's. That would be like if Valve ripped a model from Super Mario 64 and put it into Half Life 3.

It's literally copying/pasting an item from one game into another. Valve could get in legal trouble if they leave it in.

So can someone answer something for me? The Defense Grand Finals are the absolute final match correct? So, say CLG wins their next match and advances to the Grand Final. Do they then have the opportunity to lose twice before they are eliminated or not? It seems from what I can understand from the rules that they don't, which seems unfair to me. Every other team in the Upper Bracket then has the opportunity to lose twice before they are eliminated but the team that goes undefeated until the Grand Final doesn't.
